When we ripped the carpet up there was the original hardwood which we were really hoping for because if not it would have been a lot more hectic and more costly. So we got lucky. ..we ended up just going with a clear polish and I love the outcome of it!

My fiancé has a buddy that specializes in flooring so he was helping him do it (fiancé does HVAC work) between ripping the floors up, sanding then polishing I wanna say if took about 4-5 days to finish.. Which is not too bad at all! Of course we had to stay at a families place for the time being, I called my doctor to check what she would recommend and she said at least a week since were doing the whole first floor. The sanding was everywhere and the polish smell is SO potent and toxic, smells about 10 times worse than paint and pretty much takes your breath away! :-x We should be moving in tomorrow at some point during the day.

Looks great! My husband and I bought our house almost four years ago and we did a ton of remodeling which included refinishing the hardwood floors like you did.

The floor looks awesome.... hardwood is so much better then carpet...
