the mini pill So today I took my first mini pill (birth control) any thing I need to know any experiences with it?

@liana I'm getting the Skyla iud. I had that one before and it was good... I still had a period every month and it was very regular. After getting off the iud I got pregnant 6 months later

I cant do pills ?? im bad with them and taking them daily is a no go for me lol.. i would probably end up pregnant again

@poshpink_berry which IUD are you getting? I was looking at mirena.

Omg that's scary! I've been on the mini pill for a week and after reading some of the comments you ladies have me scared. My doctor is making me take the mini pill for a month then she said I can get iud after my month is up. Ready for the iud!!

I just got the Mirena today, my husband is not too happy about me having it though. I had the Paragaurd before and it was a nightmare ! I'm just going to see how it works out, if I don't like it I will have it removed.

I have 5 children (4 daughters and 1 son)...4 out of the 5 were conceived while on birth control ! My doctor said that I am just very fertile. I was going to get my tubes tied, but since I gave birth (c-section) at a Catholic hospital it was not allowed.

I wish my husband would just get a vasectomy. I wouldn't mind having another baby, but I know he doesn't want any more children.

@ Chelle77 wow ?. I'm very fertile so your statement is scary. What are you using for bc and has it had any effect on your supply? I'm hoping that between bf and the mini pill I'll be safe. I would love having another baby but I'd rather not have Irish twins. I'm too old for that ?

@ mrs_plazola I probably won't have a period for a few months so I just googled starting the pill and read it's ok to start mid cycle. You just need to be careful for the first month because it's not likely to be effective until the second moth.

I didn't like the mini pill. I was so moody and I gained weight. No matter what I did I couldn't lose weight just kept gaining. I also bled every two weeks. It was so annoying. I have the same birth control now, but I'm debating on whether I want to start it because I don't want to go through that again.

I stopped taking mine because it made my supply drop a lot and i already have supply issues.

Thanks mamas! I'm also breastfeeding (but I already had my period ?), I just wasn't sure if I could start on any random day or if I would have to wait until my next period, whenever that might be lol. I think I'll just start on a Monday, to make it easier lol.

I haven't had any symptoms at all and I am very sensitive to bc. I started a couple weeks ago and started on a Wednesday. My prescription came with week stickers all starting with a different day so you could put over the sun-mon

@Mrs_Plazola doc told me to start today because I'm breast feeding and some women who breast feed don't have a regular period.

Did you ladies just start on a random day? I've had my period once (6 weeks pp) but didn't get the prescription for the pill until after that. I always started a pill pack on the first day of my period, but now I have no clue when to expect my next period, so I was wondering when to start and I forgot to ask my midwife.

I'm starting this today too! My dr said it was about 85% effective. I've been sensitive to bc in the past so I hope it works for me!

Same here. I just took my first one this morning too. I've not used it before but I read it's best if bf. Hoping it doesn't throw my hormonal balance off and make me a moody witch ?

I had it with my first because I bf I didn't really notice any side effects and I didn't get my period till lo was 9mnts old though we used the mini pill and pulled out(I'm not saying pulling out is a form of bc by any means but this worked for us for the past 13 yrs given with only 2 yrs of bc)
