I had baths straight away, just no bath products or soap! My midwife told me to add 10 drops of tea tree oil and soak for about 15 minutes to help healing!

I took a bath the day I got home from the hospital, I actually took multiple baths a day because it made my stitches hurt less. I'd just add a little baby shampoo and lots of hot water

I've been taking a bath for about a week or so now. It's my stress reliever and the only peace I get during the day. I gave birth April 3 and I had a csection. I waited until the bleeding and discharge stopped. I had staples (which were removed 1 week pp)

I had a bath everyday after giving birth to my son 3 years ago, I had stitched too. I just didn't put anything the bath, just very warm water. It was the only thing that soothed me after my episiotomy.

I had a 3rd degree tear as well and my doctor told me to take 3-4 baths a day starting the day after I delivered. Sounds like every doctor/midwife has their own opinion on the subject so I'd ask for their advice. But I'm 5 weeks pp and have had no issues. I even started taking epsom salt baths once I got home (both my doctor and the postpartum nurses recommended this). Being told to take 3-4 baths per day was the best doctors order ever!

I was told no baths till 6 weeks, but after reading all these comments... shoot... I'm taking a bath tonight!! I miss my relaxing hot baths. I'm 3.5 weeks PP still lightly bleeding but had no stitches or tears or anything.

I love taking baths with my newborns, they love it! My 18 day old still hasn't lost his cord so besides that I had a csection and still bleeding I can't yet anyways. I read once bleeding is done its ok but also that as long as it has no soaps or scents it's ok right away for a vaginal birth. I'll wait till at least week 4

Ok well I took one last night...i so badly wanted to take my first bath with my baby girl. I always take my first bath after delivery with baby. Just couldn't remember when I took mine with my other two.

Right away. It was recommended by my dr. I had stitches as well and it eased the pain.

I had a bath hours after I gave birth, the midwife told me to. As long as I didn't use any scented products in the bath it was fine. I was also advised to bath twice a day to help keep the stitches clean.

You can take sitz baths. So warm water with Epsom salt. It'll actually help your stitches heal.

Id ask your doc. I'm not sure of the answer. I know there is risk of infection until the spot where your placenta was attached has fully healed (6weeks) not sure if baths are a risk or not.
