I've heard that deep moans do help a lot. And I'll keep in mind not to scream. Can't wait 10 weeks or less and I'll be doing this!!

I am also going unmedicated! Just make sure your mind is set on it and know that it's what we were born to do! You can do it! I heard deep moans are good, no screaming.

Helped: rocking back and forth, OMG the exercise ball, also getting on all fours and rocking. Counter pressure on the hips got me into transition. Try to turn your fear to power. You have the power! Think of how many women gave birth without medication just to put you on this planet! I'm doing it again drug free in 8 months. Your baby will be alert, won't get exposed to drugs, and the adrenaline rush, wow! Plus you get to say you did it without drugs. (BAM)

You can do it!!! It's really important to have a strong mind and a firm belief that you will feel no pain. Focus on your breathing with each contraction. And tell the naysayers who offer up their horror stories to eff off!! Block out the negativity. Good luck!

I had an unplanned unmedicated birth the only thing that helped me was rocking back-and-forth

You can do it! Do you have a doula? I truly believe my doula helped me to successfully have a unmedicated birth but that's only because baby needed to rotate at the end of labour and she knew positions to put me in to make it happen. Other than that, my body took over as soon as labour started. It was unreal how natural it felt. But here are some tips! I laboured in the shower pretty much the whole time with the shower head on my lower back. It really really really helped with back labour. Sit in a chair backwards and have your partner run the shower head on your lower back. Relax your mouth and jaw when a contraction hits and breath/moan the contraction down and out slowly. So important to not tense up. Accept these contractions every time one hits. You do get a break between contractions so drink water, chew on ice or eat something sugary. I had dates and honey. When you hit transition which is by far the most painful just remember that means that your baby is on their way super soon!! As soon as pushing starts, you will feel so much relief! And once you see your baby, you won't even remember the pain :)

I'm reading Hypnobabies after 3 close friends all highly recommended it (they've all had 2 unmedicated births with it, one delivered hers at home). It focuses on being very calm and relaxed with a lot of positive thinking. I also plan on getting in the shower or tub, moving around a lot, having my husband rub my arms, feet and back, and listening to calming music.

Find a mantra that has meaning to you. Mine was that pain has purpose. Each contraction brings that baby closer to being in your arms. Also, think soft. Don't work hard during contractions. It's best to be relaxed and let the contractions do the work. If you need to vocalize discomfort, do so in a low hum. High pitched tightens muscles. Save your energy for pushing. You got this!! Promise!

I just had my second unmedicated birth on Friday. It was all back labor and more uncomfortable than my first experience. But I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I am 36+5weeks and planning unmedicated birth. To prepare I have started having 6dates a day because it's supposed to make the first stage of labour (dilation and effacement) easier and shorter. Trying to be as active as I can be especially after I hit 37weeks

Have you read Ina May's book? It's really encouraging/empowering!! You can do this, we were made for it. ?

You've got this momma! You can totally do it. I'm a FTM and had my baby girl on December 7th with no intervention. My husband and I took Bradley courses and that gave us great tools to use and help us prepare. During labor, what helped me the most was counter pressure on my hips. Look it up and have your coach/partner practice it. Was a huge help for me. I also highly recommend having a music playlist with songs you love. Don't be afraid to be vocal either. I found low tones worked best for me and helped me release tension during contractions. Good luck! You've got this! ?

I went unmediated for my first (currently expecting my second). I can't say how it will be for you,but I know for me it was not nearly as scary as I had thought it would be. Just listen to your midwife and let her talk you through things. Also, bring your concerns up at an appointment, the midwives have seen many women with the same concerns as you, they will be able to give you advice and encouragement also!
