Keep it up. Dogs love kitty poop.

The cat is in the bathroom!? So you have cat s*** in your bathroom!? Please just get rid of one of them this sounds very unsanitary.

^^^ very helpful ? maybe she should move it to the kitchen? Lol how is the bathroom an unsanitary option. Half of kitty owners put their litter box in the bathroom.

Op is it happening while you're gone or while you're home?

And you telling her the dog loves kitty poop was helpful!? She's probably not cleaning up that's why the dog is eating it!

You obviously do not own pets ? I told her to keep the litter box up as in where the cat can jump and the dog can't reach. And I said dogs love kitty poop to reiterate that they will always try to get it.

I'm sure she cleans the box. What should she do? Stand by the box day and night and wait for her cat to poop so she can get it before the dog does? The dog is eating because they like the taste not because the owner isn't cleaning it and they want to go ahead and tidy it up for them ?

Well at least my bathroom doesn't smell like cat s*** ?and you should have probably explained yourself better the first time?

So so petty! Sad that some of these replies come from women who are mothers ?? op keep them separated.

You should have probably been nicer :)

My sister has this problem with her dog.

She put the litter box on a table. The cats can jump up but the dog can't. She has a big extra room that they use basically use for storage where she could put it though.

If you can do anything to get it up higher that may work.

Classic, how would you know if she cleans it or not. I'm sure she does.

Op, maybe move the litter box some where else or keep the bathroom door shut. Also, when you catch the dog getting the cat poop, give him a light smack on the nose and tell him no. It may take a while but you need to teach him.

Ugh I've got a dog that eats poop :/ so disgusting. And there's really not much we can do other than constantly clean up after the dogs to avoid him doing it. He does not eat his own poop just other dogs.

A garage is good idea? Or does that work better with outdoor/indoor cats? For indoor cats only what about looking for one of those nice cat litter boxes that are suppose to help with odour and keep the poop out of eating reach for dogs? And they also make ones easier for cleaning in the owner. Put the litter box in a nice little area in the basement or laundry room?

My cats litter box has a swinging door on it, which keeps my chocolate labs large head out or else he gets his head stuck in it and he freaks and backs out of it. It's definitely helped 100% keeping him out of the cat box.

Hello thank you for the advice well the cat box is in the bathroom because the kitty litter we use is flushable and since I can't clean the litter box while pregnant its easier for my husband to clean we live in a one bed room apartment so no basement. The rude comments are not acliable. Thank you for the snootiness tho. Lol no garage either and its a tiny bathroom at that. He's been doing better tho. My husband cleans it more now. But thank u all for the help.

Glad he is doing better.

Some people just need extra attention and choose to be rude to get that attention.

Just get one of those seashell boxes, the dog wouldn't be able to get to the litter (at least not a dog that size)

We will try one of those boxes. And see if it makes it easier

If the litter box is in the bathroom you can try putting a baby gate in the bathroom doorway. That way the cat can still access the litter box by jumping over the gate, but there's a barrier that keeps the dog from even being able to reach it.

We keep our litter box up on a shelving unit in the basement. That way the dogs can't reach it and the cats are able to jump up and use it.
