surgery thursday
Like the title states, i have surgery thursday. Its outpatient, to remove the right lobe of my thyroid, due to a nodule thats growing.
You can do it! I had gallbladder surgery when my son was a baby, and it wasn't fun to have to wake at night to pump every couple of hours, but it was doable. I also took Vicodin for the first day or two, and was told it was safe but could make him drowsy. Just make sure you tell everyone you're a nursing mom. I believe there is a certain med given during surgery that can impact milk supply, so they'll do an alternative if they know you're nursing. All turned out just fine. You've got this.
My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her ...

If you could have any procedures done, what would they be?
I’m scheduled for a c section Thursday and I’m a bit nervous.
Have any of you had a c section? If so what was your experience?
Moms,
Two-month old Athena, daughter of @Athenas_mommy, is having cranial surgery for a fused forehead that she developed in the womb. The doctors are reconstructing her entire forehead, which will leave her unable to see for a week or so. And her recovery may be a long process. Please keep Athena and her family in your thoughts and prayers. If you'd like to leave a message, you can contact her mom or write a comment here.
Best wishes,

C-section mommies,
What tips do you have for new moms who may need a scheduled c-section or end up having an emergency cesarean? How did you survive post-surgery? What helped you make it? We're working on a new article and want your feedback. 😁We'll add your replies to our post.
Thank you!

Thank you! I planned to ask if everything was safe, and how long to wait. So i will make it plenty clear i am nursing!
Him being so young is a blessing and a curse, bc my supply isnt established, so i should still respond to the pump fine, but if i dont it will dwindle quickly lol
I plan on calling my family doctor to double check what is safe pain med wise, too, just to be safe. I believe i was prescribed vicodin after my last delivery, so hopefully that will be okay again!
