My husband is a BABY when is comes to poo. He couldn't careless about saving money. We went back and forth for a few weeks until I bought a few and we played with sprayers and all that fun stuff.

We compromised by using liners. They go in the diaper then directly into the toilet and the poo gets flushed so he no longer has to spray the diapers.

Now if I can get him to remove the pocket inserts we will be golden!

My husband wasn't keen either. I did a lot of research and kept telling him how great they will be, the benefits of them, how much we would save on buying disposables, the environmental facts etc and got him on board. He doesn't mind changing her now and I find them easy peasy, obviously a disposable would be the 'easiest' option but I love the cloth and don't find them hard work. EVERYBODY kept saying I was brave buying the cloth, think of the washing and the extra work but they are soo not any extra work for me.

Hubby was a little unsure at first but was willing to give it a try. I make it easier for him by washing them, prestuffing, sizing and organizing them so that he can just grab one and change DD with no extra steps. I also do all the poop cleanups haha. He knows to leave the poopy diapers on a designated area on our sink. We've been doing it for almost 3 months and so far he has no complaints :)

I will say he does like that we save money. I also do the washing. He'll start a load for me if I ask, but eh, I'd rather just do it myself.

My husband still isn't on board with using cloth. He'd rather just use disposables and call it good. Since I do 99% of the changes, we use cloth. I do have disposables at home though. He says he could figure out how to put cloth on if we didn't have any disposables but he'd prefer them. He also prefers disposable wipes as well.

We decided to at least try it. I think I found a few options to make things an easier transition.

I don't think my husband will ever prefer cloth diapers to disposables, but with my first I bought SUPER cheap ones to "try" and showed him how easy it was. We started at 13mo with her and unfortunately since I bought SUPER cheap diapers they died in like 9ish months. BUT after they died my husband was the first to point out how much we saved over that time period to cheer me up. Lol this time we spent 5x as much and bought 2x as many because we are planing on CD from birth and got a WAY better brand. :-) he was 100% supportive of the whole thing and is even pretty "I don't care" about cloth wipes. Lol with our first, cloth wipes was an absolute HECK no. Lol

On YouTube they have some good videos on diaper routines, you should show him one of those

My hubby was unsure about cloth in the beginning but now after 2 years of cloth diapering he prefers it to sposies! He does most of the laundry and even rinses the poopy diapers lol. Keep in mind though while ebf you don't have to rinse but as soon as baby starts eating solids you do have to. I'd suggest a diaper sprayer that attaches to the toilet.

My DH has 2 favorite diapers he always uses: all in ones (we have Bumgenius elemental and Chelory) those ones have snaps even. He also reaches for our tots bots with velcro often

I bought both and since I was the primary caregiver she was in cloth 90% of the time and sposies only when dh was in charge. Dh would change a cloth diaper fine and drop in my wet bag but always put on a sposie after. We're about 6 months along and he still does it his way and that's ok.

Remind him of the blowouts! Then tell him they don't happen in cloth!

My hubby was not wanting to do them but finally agreed.. Now he wishes we started them w our dd. and he says how much more comfy they must be on the babes buttom:) honestly, they Re also easier for him to change (the freetimes). Washing them isn't bad at all either.. And my dh has actually washed them a few times! We've only been using cloth for 1 month.:) my son is 3 months.

Mine was against it. He gags at poop too! But I went ahead and started anyway. I just buy diapers with what's leftover from what I budget myself every month, rather than getting new clothes or something so he can't complain about spending money on them lol. Now that we've been doing it a while he knows I'm serious and never says anything.

I won't suggest doing anything to undermine your marriage but a lot of the ladies in here bought the diapers anyways and eventually the dads get on board.

My husband and I sat down and did the math together on how much disposables cost. That was enough for him. We are also fairly crunchy and my husband is an environmentally friendly person so that was another selling point. He didn't like the thought of sposies sitting in a landfill. He doesn't do the laundry because I am a control freak and I have my wash routine down. I don't want anyone messing it up. He changes the diapers with no problems. Even the snaps. He jokingly complains that they are complicated but he is smart and I remind him that he is smarter than a diaper lol.

If you'll be doing the laundry and changing the majority of diapers he really won't have to deal with any of the hard work. Start watching YouTube videos and doing lots of online research. Print out the pros of cloth versus sposies.
