"Its easy NOT to be depressed"
Ladies..... I just cannot get over the fact a friend of mine told me "Its easy NOT to be depressed". Like what? Do you know what it's like to be depressed? Do you know what it's like to feel empty and no one to talk too? Do you know what it's like to just wake up super facking sad and not want to get out of bed?
I can imagine that it is easy to not be depressed. It's just that it isn't an option all the time. For instance, some of us are depressed and some of us are not. That's really about it. I haven't experienced not being depressed and she obviously hasn't experienced being depressed. If she had she'd realize how ridiculous it is to imply that it is a choice that anyone would make. Like, I'm sure it'd be easy to be rich or easy to not have cancer, but there are things outside of our control.q
This is what I told that "friend"
You know it must be nice to be able to feel normal. To wake up and not have to worry about if you're gonna be feeling sad or mad, or happy. It sucks keeping everything inside. I have to live my life day by day and hope tomorrow is a better day for me. You know how hard it is to be so f*** ing sad, where you just wanna cry and sleep all day, but I can't because I have my kids who need me. You know how hard it is to force myself to be happy for them? I LOVE my kids with all my heart and they're the reason why I'm able to wake up, but you just don't understand what goes on in my mind. I have demons picking at me, controlling my thoughts and feelings. They make me just wanna run away, they make me not wanna do s*** all day. My children don't deserve to have a mother who has a mental illness but you know what, I'm trying my damn best for them and now it seems like I'll never be good enough for them. I'll never be good enough for anybody. I hate having to fight my thoughts every single day. It sucks having to find motivation to do things. I want to be able to just get up and do things as a normal person would. Most days I HATE going out in public. To find motivation in getting myself ready, is hard. Trying to find motivation to clean my house, is hard. I rather just not do it. I settle because I at least get myself up and care for my kids and provide them with love, I feed them, I bathe them, and most importantly I LOVE THEM.
That persons never been depressed or they wouldn’t have said such an insensitive thing. I hate people who dismiss depression and anxiety.
My mil called this girl who used to live in her hometown crazy because she killed herself after having a baby. Tried to explain ppd but she was like no people like that need to be locked up in an insane asylum. ???
My dad is this way. He doesn't believe in mental illness. He just says "be happy" ? when my parents had my brother he passed 4 days after birth. After about a week he told my mom "it happened and it's done. Just move on" like really!? People can be so heartless. I'm so sorry that person said that to you. They obviously don't understand.
Pp yeah that's my mil favorite "just get a good nights sleep and eat healthier, you won't be depressed anymore" ugh I hate that.
Until recently I honestly never really had a clue what it's like. Until my birth control went out of wack and day after day I felt lower than low. I felt lonely in a full house and even though I felt lonely I didn't want to be around anyone. I stopped talking to my family and hid away. My thoughts were only negative, I thought people were talking about me. Some days it almost hurt to smile.
I'm just saying until it's something you've been through you'll never understand, and I have experience as my mum is a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. It's like someone saying they know what childbirth is like because they get bad period pains. You'll never understand it unless you've gone through it. I think you just have to ignore the ignorance because people really don't have a clue.
My mom was one who would always say, "just get over it." Until she started having panic attacks of her own within the last few years. She cried to me about how sorry she was. She thought she had a stroke because that's how bad her attack was. People just don't understand mental illness so they think it can be "cured" by having a better attitude. I'm not glad that my mom had to experience anxiety but I am glad that she finally understands it's not something you can control. Sometimes people take all the right steps to get better and it still doesn't work. It's a tough battle and I just wish there wasn't such a stigma around it.
I would never wish depression and anxiety on anyone. I went through it bad a few years ago and while my friends were supportive it still felt like they wanted to say get over it. My bff is going through it now and I will never forget her calling me one day and saying " I'm so sorry, I didn't understand and I am so sorry."
Some days are better than others and some days, I just want to sleep. But I push myself up to get the day going because my children need me.
For me, it's easier to be depressed than it is not be depressed. If I could just not be depressed, than yes, I'll gladly do so. But I've always delt with depression, since I have 5 years old to be exact. I've just learned to cope with it now that I'm an adult.
Some people are just so facking rude and have no empathy
I was told once you have depression you'll never get rid of it. You'll either be consumed by it or you'll find a way to manage it (with or without medication) . It's a form of mental illness, it's not the same as 'feeling depressed cos your having a bad day' . Actual depression is a life long battle.
starbucks
What do you get?
What do you think about girls poking holes in condoms just to get pregnant? Is it possible?
Do you think the guy would know about it? Like do you think the condom would break?
Or do you think it's bullshit? Lol
**Im full of questions today** 😝
I know I've posted this before but when your water was leaking did it stay leaking or just with movements or what? Did you get contractions shortly after or no? I rolled out of bed and felt warmth leak out but Idk if it was possibly urine or what...never had it happen. It didn't smell like anything really...I know I should either call l&d or go in but I just want some experiences please. I want to wait a bit just in case it's nothing.
What would you do with $25,000
If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?
People who haven’t experienced it just don’t get it.
