THRUSH
My almost 4 month old has been battling this s*** for 3 months.
You can order gentian violet on Amazon and make sure you dilute it. But, be careful with it, it burned the crap out of my babies mouth and left huge welts that I couldn't see until the purple was gone. She was in pain trying to latch for like 3 days after. It took our thrush away though.
What..... I'm gonna feel horible if it's coming from me ???
I'm going to buy new bottles and pump parts.
I'm definitely going too get treated for it.
I know you said your sterilizing his bottles, etc but how? My doc told us no matter what to boil everything bottles, nipples, my pump things, etc for 30 min everyday and to not reuse anything until it was boiled and to do this for 2wks. My doc also said even tho I didn't have symptoms I had to be treated also.
You can absolutely have it and not be fully aware of it. While not the norm it is possible.
Your pump parts should be fully sterilized after each use, as well as all bottles. You should be changing your bra everyday as well because the thrush could be hanging out on there.
Thrush likes dark, moist environments. Which can mean your babies mouth and the milk glands in your breast. At this point it would be silly not to treat yourself and I would speak to your general practitioner about this. Are your nipples shiny and do they ever itch?
The ongoing treatment is going to weaken the good bacteria and allow the yeast to grow even more prevalent. If you're not feeding your son anything besides milk or formula the only source would logically be you at this point, but he is obviously more susceptible to it.
First and foremost I would treat yourself. Both mom send baby should be treated in cases of reoccurring thrush. Boil everything. Wash all bras and tank tops in contact with your nipples.
Genetian violet is a good idea but can be difficult to find. I would inquire at the pharmacy or local health foods store.
I have yet found that medication that you're talking about. Where exactly do they sell it? I am EPing and I sterilize his bottle nipples everyday. He no longer takes a pacifier so I don't have to worry about that
@kay I spoke with my son's pediatrician about myself having it and he said that I don't have it and it's not impossible but not likely that I do have it either. Like I said that one medication Fluconazole took it away but then it reappeared. I have an appointment on Wednesday. Is it normal to have it and not have any symptoms of it?
I think I responded to you on this previously. Did you ever get treated?
Even if you pump you still need to treat yourself.
Especially if his thrush had gone on this long.

Here's a good article about it for exclusively pumping moms:

Yeast, what causes thrush, feed off of sugar. You should also be wiping his mouth downn once it clears up so the sugars are not sitting in his mouth. Don't so it while he actively has thrush though as that won't feel very good.

We finally did it after 10 months!!!!

9 month in vs 9 month out 🎈
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
Just got my one month old to pee AND poop in the potty ☺️ #godiaperfree
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
And make sure you are washing everything in hot water. Bras, bedding, burp cloths, bottles, anything that comes in contact with you or baby in hot water.
