I'm glad you didn't spank him too. I'm not against spankings , I just feel that not everyone in the family has to spank a child for the same thing. Idk that seems more abusive to me. I'm glad your baby's ok!

I don't think he needed two spankings, but I don't think it's abuse either...when destruction of property and hurting people come into play, I think it's appropriate. I'm not huge on spanking, but this definitely warranted it...he could have seriously hurt the baby. Once he got a spanking though, you have to let it go, even though I'm sure you're still so ?. You could have a follow up conversation with him...sorry!!! I would have been pretty upset too!!

Don't feel bad about him getting spanked...like I said, I'm not big on spankings, but I have absolutely seen two yr olds that needed their bum swatted!! And just because he was spanked doesn't mean she did it out of anger, I think that's going too far.

Throwing tablets warrants a spanking in my book, my son would absolutely get spanked for that. He gets told daily not to throw things and I've seen him do it out of anger or frustration. So when I get hit in the face with something because he's having a temper tantrum he gets a swat on the butt and he apologizes for his behavior.

My sister didn't spank out of anger. He didn't do it because he was mad, he did it just because. I was playing with him and out of no where, he chucked it at me. He deserved his butt to be spanked. He's not my child, so I allowed her to discipline him. He kept telling my sister no when she was telling him to apologize but he ended up saying sorry. I talked to him after and told him it's not nice to do that and if he were to throw it at my son, he'd very much be in trouble again. Believe me when I say he is a bad child. When I say he has her anger, I mean the anger she had growing up. She is completely different now.

I mean why would a 2 year old throw a tablet at someone anyway? This was the first time he threw it at a person. He does usually throw it when he doesn't want it.

ETA: if it was up too me, he wouldn't ever see his tablet again. If one of my boys were too ever throw their tablet at someone, it would end up in the trash. That is just not okay, at all!!

That's one thing we also nipped in the bid early. If ds or dd throw something or kick or mistreat it, it's gone for the day. If he does it again the next day its gone two more days. (We don't do that long with dd yet as she's only 2)
