Question

How much does you LO spit up? My daughter spits up after every single feeding. Usually at least three times sometimes more. I burp her after both sides (breast feeding) and hold her up right for 15 min after every feeding but it’s not helping. Do you have any other tips? Sometimes it looks like an entire feed she spits up but she is gaining weight. She doesn’t seem to be in pain but I don’t remember my son spitting up this much.

I found i had to stop feeding my little one off both breast at every feeding. Now she only gets one side every 2ish hours and doesnt spit up as much. I think she was just over eating. Shes would spit up even if she was upright and being burped (actually thats when she did it most) so i figured it wasnt reflux, but ill be talking to the doctor too at her 1 month appointment.

I could’ve written this post! The pediatrician isn’t concerned because he is gaining weight... 2oz. a day. Went to a lactation consultant who measured how much he took off of one breast in a feeding and it was 4 oz.

My son has reflux so bad that he was prescribed medication 3x a day. Maybe try talking with the doctor?

My second baby was the same way. Nothing worked to fix her reflux, but she eventually grew out of it. She stopped throwing up/spitting up at 1 yr. Hang in there!

We put a rolled up towel under one side of the crib to give it a little incline and that seems to be helping some for when he’s sleeping?!

We are doing gas drops which seems to have helped her have less pain while trying to pass gas but hasn’t done anything for the spit up.

I’m breast feeding so it’s hard to know exactly how much she’s getting. I do keep her upright for at least 15 min. I’ll try doing longer but she does spit up when she’s upright too. I do change her before I feed her because I found the same thing if I do after she basically will throw up her entire feed. She has her 1 month check up next Monday so I’ll ask her pediatrician about reflux. It’s so frustrating, not only is her laundry insane but it wakes her up when she’s sleeping which no mamma wants.

This might sound silly but has worked great for my lo. I had to call her pediatrician as she was doing the same thing. Change her before she eats vs after as laying down will bring it up. No more then 3-3.5 oz every few hours as there bellies are very tiny still. If u bf that part won't apply to u. Then finally and I feel most importantly, for 30 minutes after she eats keep her straight upright then continue to burp. (I usually do like the skin to skin) it not only soothes her but keeps her from throwing up pretty much ever. Now if you're already doing all of these I would definitely talk to her pediatrician. If not give it a try for a day and I guarantee you that you'll see a difference. Can be a little time consuming but it's so worth it and gives you extra cuddle time ???

Nova used to be the same way Dr said reflux but we haven't been able to get her medication yet due to insurance issues. I started feeding her more frequently but less at a time. So rather than 10 minutes both sides every 3 or 4 hours I do 5 minutes every hour and a half to two hours. So far it's helped a ton!

My daughter had this exact issue 4 years ago . Sadly, The doctor never found the issue and i had to deal with It until she was 11 months. One day she just stopped throwing up after every feeding.

Maybe she has reflux? Have you tried gas drops?
