So I told my dh that I wanted new pots and pans for my birthday (in april). He said to find the set I want and he'll buy it for me. Yay! Now I've had mismatched pots and pans for seven years now. They were given to me by my ils friends after our wedding so I'd have something to cook in. I have no clue what brands are good. I need them to be easy to clean and not super heavy, so no cast iron. I have weak wrists.

I don't have anything fancy. We have a set of T-Fal stainless steel pots and pans and I love them. But really I love any pots and pans that are stainless steel.

I bought my husband a set of calphalon. He loves them. Well balanced, easy to clean, cook evenly. I paid almost $400 for the set including a few extra pieces he wanted, but it was originally around $900 for everything, so it was worth it.

If you want to invest in pots and pans you will have forever, I would buy all clad. They will last a lifetime.

I got the pioneer woman pots and pans set. As long as you don't use metal utensils they hold up well, I've had mine for over a year now and I've used metal utensils so they are a little scratched and stuff but that's my own fault lol. Still cooks good tho!!

Calphalon (the stainless steel ones). We have the entire set. It was originally a s*** -ton of money, but we got a good deal on them. We’ve had them for 10 years or so and they still look brand new.

I have Royal Prestige, they are very expensive but well worth it and I love them...they also have a 50yr warranty.

Anything stainless steal or ceramic. Stay away from non stick Teflon stuff, not good for anyone

I spoke with a lady and she said stainless steel is the way to go besides cast iron. My brother has all clad and they seem a little heavy. Caphalon is a good brand and stuff fall right out but i only use that pot for spaghetti, I don’t like how it cooks my rice. It usually gets over cooked for some reason. I’ve been looking into the Tfal and I think that’s going to be our next pot set. Good luck OP! Let us know what you choose and if it gets the job done.

I love my all clad! (I also swear by le creuset but you said nothing heavy.) I stay away from non stick.

Anything stainless steel. The nonstick stuff is toxic and causes so many health issues.

I went stainless steel last year after throwing away our nonstick crap. I also got one cast iron. I haven't looked back! Just made me so mad that my mom and my in laws both had their stainless sets FROM THEIR WEDDINGS, and I was throwing mine away after a decade.
I did keep one non sick that was in the best shape for my hubby to make eggs in, they stick pretty easily in stainless and he won't use the cast iron.
