First Word is NOT Mama

Layla now says "Na na" as her first "word" and that's what we call my mom. She is "Nana." My mom watches her 4 days a week and I cant help but feel bothered that she might be teaching Layla to say "na na." She's now saying "Da da." No mama yet :(

I personally wouldnt be because its just the first word. They cant control what they say. They will say what they want to say!

That’s why I can wait for Sean to have his first word. I’m with him 24/7 and I just know mama isn’t going to be his first word and it’s going to bother me a little because everyone is always dada, nana and pop on repeat at him.

They all tell me I’m selfish with him because I won’t leave him, let anyone watch him and he will only go to sleep for me so they don’t want his first word being mama ???

No it honestly wouldn’t bothered me. My parents help look after my little girl and if she said their name first it would be fine. My little boys first words were dada and we weren’t even living together then so he wasn’t around him as often as he is now. I was the one that done everything for him and he still said dada first. They will probably just say whatever is easier for them, don’t be offended by it.

Try not to let it bother you! They are still too young to connect words with meaning, people, etc. They will often say what is easiest, or mimic what they hear. She knows who Momma is, even if she can’t say it yet. ?

Aw don’t let it bother you. It’s more just sounds and babbles at this age. I’ve been saying ba ba ba (baby) to my lb and he’s copying ?

Isabelle says nana all the time and we don't call anyone that, it might just be really easy to say

Edit: I'm slightly bothered about her saying na na. I'm alright with the fact she says dada. I'm actually thrilled she said dada before mama! It's the nana that kinda bothers me. But oh well.

Miller always says dadadada but I️ don’t think he knows what he’s saying! I’d be upset though ?

Maddie says “nie” which is Polish for “no”. And I don’t really speak Polish to her all that much. Yet she says it at least once a day.

But babies do not say actual words anything time soon. It’s just sounds that are easy for them. Coincidently their first words are what we call mama, dada, tata, nana, baba.

I wouldn’t be bothered. Once they master a sound - they will repeat it like there is no tomorrow. Nana happens to be M easy sound for her :)

I mean, I don't know if shes teaching her to say na na, but is it just coincidence that's the first thing she has said?? I dunno. I'm probably overreacting. At this age, it's just a bunch of sounds anyways, right? Lol

Honestly I would be bothered by that. It would really make me upset if either grandparent encouraged Jack to say their name first.

Jack is finally around grandparents and they are constantly trying to get him to say “mama” or “dada” And the fact that I do everything with and for Jack, I think I’d be a little upset if he says Dada first. But that’s just me being petty lol

Killian will say dada clear as day now but if you try to get him no say mah mah he will act shy and hide his face while smiling

Will your Mom be in the delivery room?

Will your Mom be in the delivery room? My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.

Yall I'm so pissed right now! My husband has no respect I swear to god he is annoying some times! My mom called me up…

Yall I'm so pissed right now! My husband has no respect I swear to god he is annoying some times! My mom called me up and we talked for over 20 minutes. She said she had her stuff packed and ready to leave her bf because of some drama with his grandchild (6yr old calling her a bitch, hitting her, slapping her, and telling her he hates her) so I told her if she wants or ever needs to she can come stay the night or move back it doesn't matter to me that my house is always her home too! She said she took the kid to his mom's work and dropped him off and was on his way back so she decided to stay there for now and she will see what happens. Thays fine. So I went and told my husband and before I could tell him everything about the situation I was pissed cause he opened his big ass mouth and I got defensive! I started to say my mom packed her stuff and was going to come stay here for a night and before I could say she changed her mind he said "Omg! I hope you talked her out of it!". So he apparently is annoyed by my mom. Which I don't really give a fuck if she annoys him she is my mom and is always welcome and no I won't ever "talk her out" of coming to stay! I love when my mom is around! Besides that, I have offered his dad a room in our home multiple times! He and his gf are currently living in our yard in a camper that my mom got them! So how does he have the right to say that? He hopes I changed her mind?!? Haha nah dude you best check who the fu is house this is 😂 this shits mine, my moms, and my sisters. Needless to say I flipped out and made sure he realized how stupid he was for opening his dam mouth🙄 men are so stupid sometimes I swear
