We use the swaddle me brand and it's amazing for our little girl. She still has the startle reflex so we will continue using for now.

I've read u should stop swaddling once they can roll from back to tummy. We tried not swaddling her the other night but she didn't sleep sound. Woke up 3y times during the night. Last night we put her back in a swaddle and she slept 11 straight hours. I just bought a Merlins Magic Sleep suit off eBay to give that a try. Someone recommended it in another post. It's supposed to help transition baby from a swaddle at 3 months. That's when they start breaking free from their swaddle. My girl has been doing that 4 nights out of a week.

We use halo sleep sacks, the swaddle kind. Emerson still has the startle reflex, so I don't think he would sleep well without it. He seems to be moving around at night though so it is beginning to make me nervous...like he starts in the middle of his cradle and then I wake up to feed him and he's all the way over to the side, bit still on his back?? I'm confused as to how he is scooting like that...he definitely doesn't roll yet. Anyone know if it's safe to swaddle as long as arms are out even when they ARE rolling??

I only swaddle at naps and bed time but as long as it helps baby sleep, I do it until they can roll over then they have to adjust to not being because I don't like their hand being pinned and them being stuck on their bellies like that.

So I read that your supposed to stop swaddling once baby can roll from back to tummy. Then it can become dangerous for baby.

To wean you start by putting baby to sleep with one hand out for a few nights then both hands out for a few day and then switch to a sleep sack.

Do not put baby to sleep with a loose blanket or pillow until baby is at least a year old.

Kinleigh has not been swaddled since about 2 weeks old she hates it. She has to sleep with her blanket on the side of her face and then once she's sleeping I move it away. But she is to smart because if it's not where she wants it to be she will pull it to where she wants it and fall asleep

I still swaddle just with his arms out for bedtime and he gives me an extra hour or 2 more of a sleep stretch! I plan to stop swaddling whenever he can roll over. Which I think is going to be very very soon!

He's going to be 4 months. He's sleeping longer stretches now at night and getting to the age where noises wake him. I think we can all get more rest once he's in his own room. His room is right next to ours though so he won't be too far. Wish us luck. It's going to be a tough transition on mama. Accepting that he's growing up ???

I read today, there's a way to test if baby is ready to ditch the swaddle. They said to leave one arm out of the swaddle and if baby fusses or wakes up, they're not ready. Tried that tonight, and an hour after putting her to bed, she woke up. Man, this will be hard!

Madeeha, how old will ur boy be when u decide to transition him to his crib? I'm also wondering when we should do that as well.

I swaddle him for bedtime still. I'll move to arms out when we transition to his crib at the end of August and then slowly switch him to a sleep sack

Baby boy was swaddled for the first few weeks then he hated it he started to cry whenever we swaddle him and will not sleep unless we remove him from being swaddled so we switched to sleep sack? he just loves to move his hands and feet while he sleeps?

We still swaddle at night. I have to swaddle for some naps, but I usually leave one arm out for those. His arms flail all over the place still and wakes him up. Once that reflex is gone, we will move to a sleep sack

I still use swaddle blankets but have zip sack one that I'm going to switch soon then I'll go to one that his arms stick out. Honestly I'll swaddle as long as I can.

My pediatrician said 4 months. I think I swaddled my oldest longer than that. I used a sleep sack for awhile also. I preferred that over a blanket.

We will swaddle for as long as possible. We don't swaddle arms now but we will continue to swaddle her or just move on to a sleep sack only. I nannied for a 22 month old who still wore sleep sacks. They even make them with feet cut outs now.
