SO TERRIFIED AND STRESSED!!
SO TERRIFIED AND STRESSED!!
So finding out my baby is breech, I've been doing research online, and there is at least a 6% chance of breech babies having birth defects and developmental disorders. It's only 2% in normal pregnancies. I know it's only 6%, BUT there was only a 2% chance of baby being breech to begin with!!! Oh...im just so stressed and upset not knowing what's going on. Wish I had someone to talk to that's been through this. I just wish she would turn!

I read in another post you said you have narrow hips? (Maybe I'm thinking of someone else lol) but if that's the case baby could not have enough room to be born vaginally. I'm only suggesting that because I've been going to the chiropractor 3 times a week for the last 6 weeks and we've been trying to make sure my hips are evenly aligned so baby has enough room to squeeze through. We've been working on my ligaments (Webster technique) too to make sure those are even to allow enough space. I could be totally wrong but I wouldn't be worrying yourself with birth defects. Hopefully she will turn in time :) I would suggest visiting a chiropractor it's SO worth it if they can get her to turn. Good luck :)

Currently 37 wks tomorrow - I'm in the same boat as you, my baby has been breech since before 35 weeks. The doctor found out from Doppler, next visit was my preferred doctor, she brought in Ultrasound to check, she was breech. Started talking to me about spinningbabies.com, chiro, acupuncture, doing things that will make baby turn. She brought up ECV and c-section and i teared up. My first was a perfect pregnancy barely anything but swollen fingers and large weight gain. Vaginal birth. I expected similar with this one. Haha girlfriend has rode me thru pregnancytown - morning sickness, food aversion- couldn't find HB at 16wk, very limited amount of good pictures at 20wk scan, finally started weight gain, sciatic pain, was worried I'd have GD and high blood pressure maybe even preeclampsia but thankfully skipped those tours. Now being frank breech. Most birth defects are caught at 20 wk scans. I left that appointment and cried in the car for a few minutes. I then called my chiro and asked what she recommended for breech babies. I got in the next day for Webster technique and acupuncture which can take up to 4 visits. 80% chance of success!! I just had my 3rd today. Monday is my fourth. Got an ultrasound this passed Wednesday to figure out her stats. Growth, fluid, weight, etc. I did research on YouTube and spinning babies what to do to get baby to flip. My left hip was locked so good thing I went to the chiro. If she isn't flipped by our next appt we need to decide to ECV or schedule a c-section.
I hope both our babies flip to avoid complications.

Ok, breech at 36 weeks is not as problematic as everyone thinks. My son was flipping back and forth while we were in labor, there is still lots of time to flip. The doctor CAN NOT tell you that you have a narrow pelvis at this stage unless he's given you x rays, even then, you are a first time mother and your body was made to birth. Putting all this doubt in your head about what your body can and can't do is irresponsible of your care provider, and is a common trick to convince moms to accept an unnecessary c section for the doctor's convenience. That may not be the case for your situation, but no one warned me and I had the most God awful, traumatic c section and recovery for no reason. C section recovery can be easy, but it's often extremely hard and there is risk involved. It's major surgery. I want to be sure that you're not being coerced into it though. This is your decision and your choice and no one can tell you what to do. Don't be tricked, go into it with eyes open. ?

@goodle my dr told me, "I do not tell my patients this, but I think it might help you in this case" and then proceeded to say my pelvis is small. He made it sound like even if she flipped, I still might need a c section. He also said they are trying to get away from c sections because the national statistics are so high, compared to vaginal deliveries. So I don't know. I want to trust my Dr since he will be the one there delivering my baby. It's just very stressful.

Most babies turn DURING labor! And 36 weeks is still early for baby to get into position. I also highly recommend reading Ina Mae guide to Childbirth. I'm sure it will give you great relief and confidence that a breech delivery is absolutely safe and the theory of a "small pelvis" is almost always not the case.
