MY BABY IS BREECHED!! ??

Had my appt today...dr did a cervix check, said I'm closed, but also said she felt kinda up there and not low like she's supposed to be. Went right in for an ultrasound and yup. I knew it! She's breeched!! I'm really upset about this. I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and I doubt she will turn. The "foot" I've been feeling in my right rib...is her head!! Ugh. I wasn't prepping myself for this kind of news at all.

Well I think she actually may be transverse, if she isn't still breech. But I do know she hasn't flipped. It feels like she's laying sideways right under my ribs, all above my belly button. I have my Dr appt Wednesday and he should be able to tell me where she's at.

May is baby still breech or has she managed to turn? My little one is also breech (flexed)I'm currently 35+5 they only giving me 2 days for her to turn then I have to go back where they'll discuss options ? xx

My baby is also breeched, she's been breeched since 29w (I'm 34+2 now) and at my last appt my Dr said she's still breeched. So we've talked about the possibility of a c-section in case she stays like that. Good luck, I hope your baby flips! :)

I'd rather have a planned c section than trying to labor for hours, putting her and my body in distress and end up with a c section anyways.

Awww I'm sorry hun I hope baby turns I've heard they can help with that not sure how though but there's way praying baby turns ??

My ultrasound showed everything is fine other than she's in the frank position. She can flip on her own or they can try the ecv. We are taking time to decide if ECV is worth the risks. I'm still seeing my chiro and doing acupuncture because they have a higher success rate in flipping than ECV. I'm still trying the spinningbabies.com methods because I have had a vaginal birth prior and would like to again to avoid the c-section.

@sweetmelissa that's how we feel about it. She's breech for a reason. Think I'm just gonna let her make the call on this one. If she flips on her own, great. If not, there must be a reason.

Sorry for this news but at least you know now and can prepare. My sister had two vaginal deliveries and then her 3rd baby was breech and she ended up getting a C-section. She was devastated when she found out he was breech. She tried everything under the Sun to flip him including therapy, chiropractor, masseuse and home methods. Nothing. Turns out his head was GIGANTIC! So there was a reason he was breech- she would have likely ended up needing an emergency csection anyways even if he had flipped because his head most certainly wouldn't have fit through her birth canal. Things usually happen for a reason.

Omg! Yes I'm 36 weeks as well and my baby is breech! I'm so upset about this. Strong possibility c-section is in my future?

Нравится Ответить

Go to the chiropactor, a good adjustment can help the baby move!

Нравится Ответить

Your baby still has lots of time to turn, and babies CAN be birthed vaginally even when breech. Lazy doctors are the ones who want to c section every breech birth. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you choosing to have a c section if you want one or feel that it's the best choice for you. Don't let yourself be pressured either way, mama knows best! Try spinning babies and the Miles circuit if you'd like a vaginal birth. ?

Sorry to hear it May, but don't lose heart yet. I heard good things about spinning babies too.

Last scan i had baby was transverse, and they told me if baby didn't move by week 36 they are going to admit me for monitoring and potentially c-section me a week earlier than planned. I'll be 36 weeks on Tuesday, but baby is measuring + 2 weeks ahead. She didn't seem confident that baby would move.

Today there has been so much activity, it feels like she's moved. But I'm not sure and reeeeally don't want to be admitted.

Keep us posted if baby moves for you, fingers crossed ?

My dr told me only 3% of babies are breech when it comes time to deliver and she has had babies flip the day of delivery so not to worry about it....

I was told I had a small pelvis as well with my first. She was also breech but when I went into labor she was head down and I was able to push her out! Don't give up hope just yet. Anything can happen until you go into labor.

I've also been doing techniques from spinningbabies.com. Specifically the forward leaning off the couch every night for 30 seconds. It's working so far and turned my baby from breech to head down. I'm too high risk to have any manual manipulation done to turn baby so I'm hoping baby stays head down. One bit of advice that my dr told me was to do techniques at nighttime before going to bed bc that's when baby is most active and likely to turn. He said doing the downward dog type position helps pull baby away from spine and towards belly button and gives baby more room to move.

A lady in my yoga class brought this up and the yoga teacher said to do downward dog. Also to put a bag of like frozen peas on top of your belly/rib area. The baby doesn't like the cold and will try to get away from it. Just put a light towel or something under the bag. Also you can try something warm in the lower part of your belly/pelvis area bc the baby will want to be by the warmth. She said you can try these separate or simultaneously. I've also heard the 'spinning babies' exercises work for some mom's too. Your baby has time to flip. Don't worry!! Oh and the frozen peas also helps with the rib pain too if you still have it.

I was in your shoes with my first daughter. She stayed breech from about 30 weeks up. I opted not to do a version because she had low fluid levels. I also believe that babies are positioned a certain way for a reason and i didn't want to harm her by trying to flip her. As long as you mentally prepare yourself for a c section it's really not to bad. Recovery will be painful, but knowing in advance what to expect makes things easier.

I had my daughter naturally breech. The day I had her I was actually scheduled at the hospital for my dr to try and turn her but she had plans of her own lol. My dr said I could have her vaginally if I went into labor on my own but I did have a c-section date scheduled in case. Maybe talk to your dr and see if the baby is small enough for you to try and have her naturally?

Well now I have weekly appts so every week we're gonna check to see if she flipped. He said I can go all the way to my due date if I wanted, or I can schedule a csection as early as 39 weeks.

Нравится Ответить

Oh no mama hopefully she will end up turning around. Did she say how long till she will schedule you a C-section or not??

I dunno. Dr makes it sound like even if she did flip, my pelvis is small and she might not fit through it. So in the end, I might need a csection regardless. I'm just not sure what to do. Try and flip her, and HOPE for a successful vaginal delivery, or just schedule the csection...

Aww I'm so sorry to hear that I hope they are able to flip her ??????

I'm currently going thru the same thing 36w5d and she's been breech for two weeks. They recommended doing spinning babies.com technique and I'm seeing my chiro and acupuncture to try to flip her. Today I'm doing my position ultrasound and sizing her up see if she is able to flip before discussing ECV which husband and I are debating even risking it. I'll be trying to flip her till delivery day. Maybe schedule a c-section just in case. I hope your baby can flip.

Number of things I have tried -

1-Laying upside down on an ironing board (breech tilt)

2- rotating hips on yoga ball

3- downward dog positions - standing and forward-leaning inversion

4- ice pack on top of belly

5- flashlight at bottom belly

6- music on bottom belly

7- sitting different in kitchen chair

8- laying on the correct side to sleep

9- acupuncture

10- chiro - Webster technique

11- talking to baby & wishing/visualization her to flip

12- sidelaying release

13- relaxing and rubbing belly in the motion I want her to flip.

Hoping to hit my gym up to swim and see if I can flip her this weekend with doing underwater handstands.

Yes he did mention them trying to manually flip her, but he also said my pelvis is really small. So he thinks there's a good reason she's not head down, and might not even fit, if she does turn. I'm just really upset. A cesection was the LAST thing I wanted. I'm a FTM and kinda want to be able to experience laboring on my own.

I'm sorry to hear that! My baby is breech too, but I'm only 33.5 weeks. I've been going to the chiropractor and he's been using the Webster technique to encourage baby to go into the head down position. Has your doctor mentioned doing an ECV?

My MIL hasn't been here at all my whole pregnancy, but now that I'm close to giving birth she wants to demand to be there. Yeah right. I think I'm asking pretty freaking nice to respect my decision. I'm in my right, aren't I?
