I'm 33 weeks and have to get a DTap shot. They told me to go to my primary care dr to get it done

I got mine and the flu shot two weeks ago at 30 weeks. Your doc definitely should have it at the office. Maybe call and ask then tell the nurse you want it at your next appointment. Good luck!

I actually just got my shot at my 32 week apt

It's not fully effective until a couple of weeks after it's administered. So getting it after delivery leaves you still susceptible for a little while.

Yes dad's should get it too. Im having my third and still haven't been able to convince my husband to get it. ? He faints even if someone asks him about getting a shot.

I think I'm just gonna get it when he recommends. Are the dads supposed to get it too??

My doctor doesn't offer it until after delivery, in the hospital.

My doctor was the opposite. She didn't say anything about flu. And suggested I get a tdap.

I didn't. But DD did when it was time.

I live in Michigan and I got it at 28 wks. Don't know if that helps ?

I got mine at 28 weeks, dh got his when she was a few weeks old

Husband and I both had it around 30 weeks I think. Not at the OB's office. We had to go to general physician for it. I don't think OB office normally carries it.

With dd a year and a half ago I got it around 35 weeks. I haven't been told to get it this time maybe because I'm up to date on it.

I just changed doctors at 35 weeks due to relocating. My new doc said I needed it asap and wrote me a prescription. Went to cvs n got it done.

They offered it to me after delivery

I got it after I delivered my second son at the hospital. With my first it wasnt offered I think because I was 21 and still up to date on it.

I get my tdap next week at 29 weeks my doctor always recommended it strongly during pregnancy, I trust him and do whatever he says.

We don't even have that shot here !?

I got mine at 30 weeks

I work in an OB office. We offer it between 27-36 weeks. It's safe to give in pregnancy, and can give the baby some protection from Pertussis (whooping cough) until they can start the series.

I just have birth and got it at the hospital after he was born. I wasn't given the option to get it while pregnant. Then my husband went to Walgreens and got his done the day we left.

Obviously my doctor knows more than I do, and if I trust him to deliver my baby, then I should trust what he says about the Tdap shot. I won't however...take his advice on getting the flu shot lol

My OB told me to get it before 36 weeks. Had to go to my reg doc for it.

Do you have a Walgreens, RiteAid or drug store near you? Usually you can get those shots by making an appointment there.

I'm 30 weeks and got mine at my appt last week. I got it while pregnant with my other 2 also.

deleted-user

One doc offered it before delivery another of mine did it after. I'm not sure what the guidelines are.

I think I was about 30 weeks for both pregnancies when I got the shot. I explained to my OBs that my husband is allergic to the vaccine so he can't get it and I wanted to do everything I could to give as much protection as possible to the baby. Both times it was actually my nurse not the OB who gave me the shot. Could you possibly ask the nurse?

Really?? See why I'm soooo confused?! The whole "not tested for safety" thing is so confusing. But yet Drs give them to pregnant women all the time!!

deleted-user

I wasn't offered one until my second was born. Only shot I got during pregnancy was RHOGAM

deleted-user

5 years ago I got it at the hospital after I had my daughter. My doctor gave me the option to get while pregnant this time or at the hospital again. I decided to do the same as before because it isn't tested for safety during pregnancy.

deleted-user

My doctors office doesn't do them there, I got mine done at cvs's pharmacy.

deleted-user

deleted-user

My doctor does them around 28 weeks so that it can help protect baby when baby comes out.

I'm not getting it during pregnancy. The inserts state it hasn't been tested for safety in pregnancy...so I'd rather wait...if you're breastfeeding you're lo will get antibodies from you.

I did tell him I was thinking I would be getting it during pregnancy...but he said they don't do it at the office and they do it at the hospital...I didn't wanna second guess him to his face. I mean...I kinda did...but I have no idea where I'd even go to get it now, if I wanted it before giving birth!

Ok I say 28 weeks but now I'm not sure. I definitely got it while pregnant.

I got mine while pregnant & there is a poster on my OB's wall stating that you should get it while pregnant.
