Are You Taking a Birthing Class???
I'm just curious to see how many mommas will be registering for any classes??? If so, are you registered already? When will you be taking them??

You definitely should. I did with my first. It was very helpful and I believe they also have you a tour of the maternity ward.
I signed up for the one at my hospital on March 4. I will be 31 weeks. They have one in April too. I don't want to wait for that long. Might go to another Lamaze class too. Husband has been pushing me.
I just registered for a hypnobirthing class. (Planning an unmedicated birth) It's a five week class and I'll be 30 weeks when it starts.

@jessi i haven't checked into it enough, to know cost. But my understanding is, most hospitals offer classes for free if you are delivering there. At least I HOPE so!!! But I think as a FTM it would benefit greatly!!
I'm 28 week ftm too. I haven't taken any classes but I keep thinking about it. It's just not easy because they're kinda expensive and at inconvenient times. I might still try to take a breastfeeding one though....
No but if I was a FTM I would be taking a breastfeeding class. I am a lactation peer now and it is something most moms who would like to be successful with breastfeeding should look into❤
I took the breastfeeding class. Going on the tour in two weeks. May try the birthing class. All are free at the hospital

I think it'd be nice to go, but I feel like at 28 weeks I may be too late to register??? Ugh. I have no clue. I need to make some calls Monday lol
I'm not nor did I with my last two lol I just watched videos ??
I want to but are hospital only offers them Wednesdays starting 10am - 3pm. I have my SS and hospital won't let him go to the childcare because he's not actually mine. I really don't want my fiancé or my mom to use vacation time. Luckily are hospital offers a birthing coach as soon as you got to L&D. Then they lactation specialist and one on one care with a newborn specialist before your discarded and for 6 months afterwards.
I loved my birth classes because I was a ftm and me and the hubby would make it a date night! Every Thursday for 6 weeks we would go out to eat than go to class, I did learn some things! Now it's too hard to find a babysitter and I already know what to expect lol
As a ftm I would. I didn't with my first and ended up having a csection. But with my 2nd I did because I wanted a vbac. Highly recommend
My midwife does "group appointments" which are 2 hours long and we meet with other women and families due at the same time to discuss labour and delivery, so I'm just doing that as it's covered by my insurance. We'll get some books on the subject and I'm hoping my years of paediatric nursing will get me through the rest. ?
We just finished our last Bradley class last week. It was 12 classes that were 2 hours each (: My Bradley instructor is also my Doula, so I'm super happy that she'll be there when I deliver. With my first, we only did the hospital childbirth "class" and it was mostly just a tour of the hospital. It honestly didn't help us at all. We are having a home birth this time (God willing), so taking a natural childbirth class made the most sense to us
I'm not but I did when I was a ftm and HIGHLY recommend going. Our hospital offered them along with a tour at the same time and our insurance covered the fee! I also took a breastfeeding class and if you are planning on trying to breastfeed I highly highly recommend that as well!! So many people get talked into formula in the hospital or get talked into unnecessary procedures/interventions during birth I found it really helpful to have some knowledge on these things ahead of time to make a more educated decision. You never know if you'll have a supportive nurse in the hospital so it's best do know some stuff yourself!
This is my third baby but I never took a class. I found I just followed my instincts and did well. Kinda wish I had done a mini breast feeding class since I was clueless after birth. Though we have free lactation consultants in my town so I had support after. I think it wouldn't hurt!
We are going next Saturday to birthing class. It's a one day all day class. My work offers breastfeeding class free so I'll do that next Thur.
Since this is my third time around I have already taken the childbirth and breastfeeding classes. But I did sign my boys up for the big brother class so they can learn more about baby and how they can help too!
I signed up for three classes: childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care. They are free in my community and offered one each Wednesday (2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wed. of each month). I plan on doing all in March and will be 29, 30, and 31 weeks
I've just signed up to antenatal classes for 6 weeks, starting in 2 weeks. I'll be 28 weeks when they start!
I'm a FTM and would like as much info as they can give me haha ?. & also I see it as a way of meetings new people ?
Do you have to take child birth classes/prenatal classes to register at the hospital you want? Im going to Riverside Community Hospital. I wanted to take them but the thing is that my clinic gave me my registration packet for my hospital all late (suppose to give it to me at 6 months, just gave it to me I'm 2 weeks away) and the dates for the free classes had passed already for this month. I don't want to pay $60-$100 for a 2-4 hours class (still have baby stuff to buy) if it's not required to take. I did find a free online class with videos to take and I've been watching that. TIA! ☺
first time mommies did you take a parenting class? did you take a labor class?
Where did you meet your child's father? I met mine in my second semester of college. Thank you speech class.
college mommies How many classes are you taking this semester? How are you balancing school and giving enough attention to your los?

Yes, I'm taking birthing classes starting Feb. 21st ending April 4th Tuesday nights of every week. It won't hurt to call and see if they still have space if you want to go. I'll be 28 weeks at the start of the classes.
