Daycare isn't wiping my toddler after pooping

Daycare isn't wiping my toddler after pooping

I've asked 3 times in the last 2 months to please wipe or supervise her when she goes potty. She still has skid marks at least once a week and tells me her bottom hurts. She won't be 3 until March; she is newly potty trained. She is too young to be wiping her bottom alone; she gets poop on her hands and I'm afraid she's going to get a UTI from this. I try to let her go potty alone but come in to wipe her.

Sounds like you need a better daycare

☺️ I just hope they stay up on this. She does try to do a lot by herself, but this is something that no 2.5 yr old can handle independently. But if big brother can do something, she WILL do it, too!

She was wiped well yesterday, and doesn't go on Fridays. I'm going to check her closely every night now...

Are they wiping her now, how's it going?

Batman voice. My dd is 4 and I still teaching her to wipe after she poops.

We wiped and would pour water in my one. I don’t think any little one can clean themselves properly at that age. They all needed some form of assistance. I would speak to the Director if you said that they do wipe.

Ok, I'm glad I'm not overreacting. I'm trying to be patient because she does try to be very independent and I think they believe her that she wiped well. I mean... she tried to wipe at home and got poo all over her hand... she's not capable of wiping herself yet.

Full Batman. Even the most diligent 2 yr old does not have the dexterity to wipe to perfection.

I'm annoyed for you.

Some daycare think that students who wear underwear should be independent and wipe their own butts. I read an article on my news website a while back saying they didn’t wipe butts because they didn’t wanna be charged with anything. They didn’t wanna get near their private parts because you know if a parent ask who touched you, the student will say “so and so” did. At least that’s how it is where I’m from.

I'd go full batman

I'd definitely say something. My daughter is 3 and still needs help wiping. Fortunately she holds her poop til she gets home but there were a couple times she pooped at school and they wiped her. But she came home with a rash so I'm not sure how well they wiped her. I gave her a bath at home just in case.

I can't imagine why some daycares wouldn't be allowed to wipe. They wipe poopy baby butts when changing diapers so it's the same thing.

I can’t imagine why a daycare wouldn’t be able to wipe. If the child was in diapers they’d still be wiping them(hopefully). That just seems crazy to me.

And obviously if you’ve brought it up multiple times, and no one has said they aren’t allowed I’d be using the Batman voice.

I know our daycare isn’t allowed to wipe. I’m in Cali .

No, they can and do wipe children as long as needed. How can a daycare not wipe a 2/3 year old? That's strange. I left a tub of wipes with her main teacher and she's going to keep a close eye on her in the potty.

When you asked them to wipe her previously, what was the response? The daycare I worked in could not wipe children once they were out of diapers, but they certainly should've told you that if that were the case.

I would inform the director that this is the 4th time your addressing this issue, and if she is not properly wiped and cared for you will be pressing charges of neglect, and whatever else goes with it...

As your daughter is being left in her filth all day getting rashes and infections because of it...

This will not be overlooked anymore...

At 2.5 most boys are still in diapers, therefore the teacher is still touching there bottoms. It sounds like laziness. Batman voice!!!

Since they can I would talk to the director then. If they are allowed to then it should be done.

I can't imagine them having a rule of not wiping bottoms for that age... What if she were still in diapers? Would they not wipe her bottom?? I'd be pretty upset but wouldn't storm in with Batman voice.

They are allowed to/supposed to wipe the kids. It's a major chain, so each one has 2 directors to go to. They take kids from 4 weeks to 6 years, so wiping and potty training are part of the scope of care they provide. I'm frustrated because she's TWO. My son was mostly wiping himself at 5 but still needed occasional help or supervision, like if he had diarrhea. Otherwise, I'm really happy with the care my kids get/got there. My son was potty trained before starting but they wiped him when he needed it. I made sure he was able to wipe independently before he went to kindergarten. I'm going to bring a tub of wipes today and insist she be wiped with them.

Some daycares don’t wipe bottoms because of the act of seeing and touching.

Find a new daycare that does i suppose. My school wouldn’t wipe my sons bottom when he started at 3 because of protocols they have.

She's not even 3 yet! I say Batman voice, unless she insists on doing it herself, in which case I'd Batman voice insist that she be supervised at the very least.

I guess it depends on the daycare. Where my son went they weren't allowed to wipe them in the bathroom since there were no cameras in there. I would m ask the head of the daycare about their policies with that and take the conversation from there

Poor baby ? I hope you get it straightened out because that’s awful.

I’ve heard that some daycares aren’t aloud to wipes but she should she still have some assistance when going to the restroom. I would call the owner or whoever. Poor baby ☹️

I would talk to the head of the daycare this time and not get crazy. These people will still take care of your child. I would be afraid of retaliation in other ways.

Batman voice. At two years old it’s pretty common sense to assist in the bathroom. It’s neglect at this point since it’s causing the area to become sore.

Rant! My sitter used cottonelle wet wipes on my baby! Now she has huge rash!!! I totally get that my SO forgot to put the wipes in her diaper bag. But she could have told one of us and we could have brought her some or she could have went to the store and I could pay her back. I don't get it. She buys her clothes and toys, takes her places while I'm at work. The store is literally a 5 minute walk from her house. But she decided cottonelle wipes are ok? Ugh. Rant over.

Does anyone know what else works for a bad diaper rash ?? Idk why my baby is pooping so much but she poops at least 3-4…

Does anyone know what else works for a bad diaper rash ?? Idk why my baby is pooping so much but she poops at least 3-4 times after each feed & its making her rash worst. I dab when i clean her instead of wiping to avoid from irritating it & ive even tried changing the kind of formula twice. The poop is not even alot its probably like 2 or 3 little wet drops on the diaper but i feel so bad because i know that it hurts her. & ive triedd all these products !!
