In my bag I had 2 nighties, I wish I had packed more because during labor I got sweaty in the first one and ended up puking all over it from the diamorphine injection so, take a few nighties especially if your going to stay over night after having the baby too, you will feel more comfortable in fresh pyjamas.

Take plenty of normal knickers which can fit large pads in because once the baby has arrived you will be continuously bleeding heavily for a few weeks. They were my 2 main things I didn't have enough of. I found having fruity water during labor helped hydrate me and I had a wash bag with my toothbrush and soap in for washing myself. I didn't really need anything else for me, I had my phone to keep me busy for the days I was in and family brought me snacks and magazines.

For the baby take a few all in ones and vests because they have awful poops the first few nights! Evelyn splatted through her first 2 and I was stuck with nothing to put on her! A baby blanket will come in handy too as the hospital ones aren't comfortable I found.. Bibs are good to have for when your feeding the baby and also a big stack of nappies and wipes as they go through them so quickly.
