2 month shots

Please tell me how your children reacted to the vaccines? I'm so scared of him getting a fever, he hasn't been sick yet and the thought tears me up.

My son cried right when he got them, then a few minutes later he was fine. No fever, a little fussy but nothing crazy . never give Tylenol before shots , only after and it might not even be necessary . Have it on hand just in case. Honestly it was harder on me than him.

Definitely breastfeed him while he is getting them. Or at the very least feed him before he gets them. My nurse made me hold him down and I'm not doing that with the next set. She can still hold his legs still and give them to him while I'm feeding him.

My son turned bright red and screamed bloody murder then just fell asleep for an hour straight only because I kept trying to wake him up and keep him awake. Which didn't work. It really worried me because he was completely out and limp. Just fell asleep. The nurse didn't seem worried though so idk. But I did let him sleep more after I got home and just woke him to eat every few hours. For a week after though he just cried. For no reason just screamed with tears and no one or nothing could console him. He never got a fever just super grouchy so be ready for that if it happens.

My son had his on Monday. He didn't even cry the first one but did for literally 10 seconds on the second, no tears. He had a slight fever the next day so I was giving him Tylenol. I didn't notice anything really different other than he wanted to go to bed like an hr early.

My daughter had hers yesterday. She cried more when we had to weigh and measure her than for the shots. My son took all of his pretty well. Never had any side effects just more sleepy right after so we usually took a nap after vaccines.

My doctor has always told me that I can give her a dose of tylenol/motrin half hour before her shots. I didn't know it made them less effective

NEVER give motrin to a 2 month old, and NEVER give medication prior to shots! It makes them less effective and you can end up medicating then unnecessarily

My daughter was fine afterwards. If you are concerned about baby getting a fever, have the clinic give baby Tylenol or Motrin prior to.

2 month shots were a breeze, he handled it like a champ and was just really sleepy. We just got his 18 month shots done though and omg, you would've thought we were murdering someone. I've never seen him so upset. I think it's because he was able to remember getting shots and so he worked himself up before it happened

Thank you Carly! I'll be sure to ask ?

I'm sure you could ask or tell them you'd like to try and breastfeed while he's getting the shots. Though someone will need to hold his little legs still so maybe if you have someone to help you out it might be easier. Won't hurt to ask!

Has anyone been able to breastfeed while they give the shot so they don't react as bad?

Ответить

It's gonna be okay! It only hurts for a second then you can breastfeed or give him snuggles to make him happy again. Don't work yourself up over it he's going to be just fine!

Cried for a few seconds then he was all good. He's been this way for all his shots and I know I should count myself lucky!

My first son reacted fine, only cried for a second. I cried longer than him. My second had a tougher time, but I blame the nurse. When I got home. I noticed his leg was really bruised

My son was cranking for the evening, inconsolable at one point. After a little Tylenol he was good but woke up several times during the night crying. On the bright side it was only the first 24 hrs that was bad.

It was incredibly sad. It was a different cry from what I'm used to, like "I'm so tired, yet in incredible amounts of pain" cry. I hated every second of it. Happened again at his 4 mo shots, accompanied by a 102 fever, a hard bump where they injected him (the serum was trapped under his leg causing discomfort), and he was extremely clingy. I am not looking forward to his 6 month visit coming soon.

He cried as he got the shots but had no reaction otherwise. It'll be okay!

Cried for about 30 seconds and was sleepy for the rest of the day. I just snuggled him till he felt better.

Massaging the area where they gave shots helps and baths.

My daughter just slept afterwards. Was completely normal.

My son however, had the saddest cry that seemed never ending for about three hours straight the night of his vaccines. He also woke a lot during the night and was upset easily.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
