My experience was excruciating and I don't want to think about it. I just wanted to read the comments and wish you good luck. ?

I starting having contractions at 3:30 AM Nov. 27th and I knew it was labor. I wanted to labor at home for as long as I could, they were uncomfortable but I could walk and talk through them so I walked them off. I got home from SO's house and was able to take a nap, but contractions woke me up occasionally. Anyways. Around 11am my sister and mom decided we should go walk around. We got some lunch and went to the park where it became more difficult to walk them off, but it was still doable. Walked for about 2 hours. Went home, took a 3 hour nap where contractions had completely stopped. I woke up and was really discouraged because I was sure that it was labor day

Sure enough 20 minutes later contractions started up again with a vengeance. I couldn't walk through them anymore so we decided to go in. It was around 830 at night.

When I got to the hospital, I was admitted and checked where I was at a 6. (I had been at a 4 since 36 weeks.) They put me in a labor room where they let me labor. Checked me 3 hours later, I was at a 9. They kept offering me an epidural but I didn't take it. It was painful, but it was totally doable. Plus I would NOT have been able to sit still for it. I was in hard labor then until around 1 am when they checked me, I was ready to go. Doc came in, prepped everything and I started pushing. The worst part was her head, after that it was easy breezy. She was out by 1:42 am and I had my princess. I loved loved loved my labor and delivery and I would not have changed a single thing about it.

I went into labor at 1:46 in the morning, no epidural, all natural, and delivered at 2:46am

Water broke at 12:30am I was 39 weeks exactly. Went to the hospital around 2am and was barely started to get contractions at 4am I felt them coming stronger so I was given iv pain med and they were great and helped me sleep for a bit. At 8am my dr came to say hey and check me out, was at 3cm still 70% effaced she told me she would come at lunch time to give me antibiotics since my water had broke and then would return before she left for the day to have a baby lol so I was expecting to be there all day :/ . However by 9am the nurse said you are contracting but not progressing and we are going to start pitocin I said that is fine but give me an epidural first since I was told pitocin can be intense. One I got my epidural it was smooth sailing I got checked again at 11:30 am and it was time to push! Lol my nurse had me "practice pushing" but told me to stop because baby was coming now! Called my dr and was born at 12:01pm in total from the time my water broke was 11 1/2 hours and no more than 10 pushes :)

Oh wow you're tiny! lol you're the same height as my friend. 9lbs I can see why they would be worried. I'm just glad they asked you and that your baby is ok.

I started having contractions 2 days after my due date. I didn't know that they were contractions because they were in my butt and I thought I had to poop. I finally gave up trying to sleep at 6 the next morning. I was spotting and lost my mucous plug. I drove my oldest daughter to her follow up appointment (she had her tonsils and adenoids out a week before) and when I got out of the car my water broke. I got back in the car and called my husband and then my daughters doctor to let them know we weren't coming in. Luckily the hospital was a 1/4 mile away. I got there, they admitted me, and wanted to start pitocin right away...I declined seeing how my water just broke and I was already 3 cm dilated and 100% effaced. We walked forever and 6 hours later I still had not progressed further so I let them start pitocin. 2 hours later I opted for the epi because my contractions were 2 minutes apart and I still had not progressed further. It took 7 times for the anesthesiologist to finally get the needle in. I felt it every time he hit bone...10 minutes after they got me settled and I started to drift off into nap time, 4 doctors and 6 nurses rushed into our room. They were flipping me around and trying to physically move the baby because her heart rate dropped. I remember crying and signing paperwork for a c-section. I sobbed all the way to the OR. They knocked me out completely. My husband said I was in there for 2 minutes and he heard baby girl screaming. I woke up crying. My hubby walked in without the baby and i freaked out. The nurses brought her in 2 minutes later. Turns out her cord was wrapped around her body and she was trying to descend into the birth canal and the cord got pinched. They couldn't move her safely so a c-section was absolutely necessary to save her life.

I'm just so happy that she is here with us and healthy. Sorry for the novel. I still get so emotional thinking about her traumatic entrance into the world.

Oh wow pp a baseball bat? My mom had all four of us naturally and quickly, I've also seen the video of my birth and I swear you couldn't tell she was in labor. It irritates me lmao!

I gave birth all three times completely natural with no medication. My first birth was 5.5 hours, my second was 5 hours and my third was 2 hours and also my biggest baby. He was 9pds 3oz. I'm not going to lie the pain was terrible. I had back labor with all three of them and with my middle one I had stomach and back labor. It felt like someone was beating me with a baseball bat times ten

I was due May 28th, had a membrane sweep on June 11th, went into labor almost immediately. Labored at home as long as I could. Went in around 9AM on June 12th. 7cm dialated. They broke my waters around 1PM, discovered he had a BM, started pitocin, then got my epidural. I fell asleep. Came to check me around 3:30, he was crowning. Started pushing around 4, had him at 4:29!

It all around was not bad. Expect the fact that the second he was born the NICU team came and took him right away, I barely got to see him. I finally got to hold him like half an hour later.

DS was born at 39 weeks. I was dilated to 3cm when I went in and they broke my water. Got my first epi at 6cm. It didn't take. They did another epi at 9cm and all it did was numb my legs. So I felt everything. After an hour of pushing with no progress, my doctor used the vacuum and DS was out 8 pushes later.

Next time around I'm doing it natural. No point in getting stabbed in the back for nothing. ?

I had my son Feb 2015 unmedication. My day started pretty normal, i was going to a NST because of diabetes. I was 38 weeks by then and nothing seemed wrong during the time i was doing the NST. By 9 am my SO and i left the hospital and decided to go to a store. I had little back pains but they were hours apart so i just didnt pay attention to them. We got home and everything still seemed fine until it was 2pm. I was having alot of pain and pressure on my lower back but i was a ftm so i just thought it was late pregnancy pain. At 4pm it got so worse i had to stop everything i was doing when the pain hit so my cousin told me to shower and see if it went away. At 4:30pm it was ssooo much worse i was getting urges to squat and i would get on my hands and feet from pain. We left to the hospital and arrived around 4:45pm. Everything was happening so fast that the staff only got my name and rushed me to L&D. I was 8 or 9 cm when i arrived and i was about to start pushing when my water broke and the doctor had just arrived. I pushed for afew minutes and had my son at 5:16pm. It was hard during contractions but i planned for a unmedicated birth since the beginning and it was awsome!

Like I said with my scoliosis it would be virtually impossible to have a successful epidural. My spinal curve is in a very difficult place for it and could potentially damage me for life. So me getting an epidural could actually be the end of the world lol. Pitocin I could live with if I absolutely needed it. Did they ask your permission for pitocin? They didn't ask my cousins permission and just started administering it which I think is wrong of them to do.

I went until I was 6 cm dilated before o got my epidural... However I did have one round of stadol (pronounced stay-doll) it was amazing and got me to that point... I had to wait about an hour for the anest. To get to me. It was smooth sailing after that!

Dd1 - got out of bed on my due date stood up and my water broke. Spent 18 hours not progressing so they started pitocin and she was born 6 hours later, 14 mins of pushing at 8 cm ( every time I had a contraction I went to 10 then back down to 8) she was born.

Dd 2 - water broke in the middle of the night 38+5, went to the hospital, they let my contract naturally for 3 hours without progression so yet again we started the pitocin, an hour later the nurse said if I need to push go ahead. So at 7.5 cm I had the urge to push as she walked out of the room. My partner yelled for her to come back because baby was crowning . 3 minutes later and 2 big pushes she was born.

Both had no epidural and back labour - I have never experienced the stomach hardening everyone talks about but we don't know why I don't progress after my water breaks without intervention or why both kids were delivered before 10cm.

That's not why I don't want want pitocin, I don't want an epidural for the reason of all natural, plus I have scoliosis and they said my curve is in a difficult place. I don't want pitocin because of the stress it puts on the baby and I want to do whatever I can for my baby to come when he's ready. I've already started to get contractions which sucks because I don't want him to come too early. But I feel that they push pitocin on you without letting your body even try to labor. And then you end up stalling and have to get a c section. It's scary.

I got an epidural. I was somewhere between 25-30 hours into my labor. I got it and was able to sleep about 5 or 6 hours. I think if I hadn't gotten it I would not have been able to push. I was exhausted.

My first I went into labor at 2AM with contractions immediately 5 minutes apart. I labored at home a couple of hours but I was nervous so I went in around 6. I was a 3, an hour later a 5. A few hours later I "stalled" at a 7 and my OB forced me to get pitocin (I was too dumb to refuse), I went two hours with pitocin and I got the epidural. Around 9PM I started pushing, I ended up having a csection and DD1 was born at 10:50.

DD2, I went into labor around 2PM and went to the hospital around 9PM at 5cm. I walked around, smacked and drank water for hours. At 3AM I was a 7 and my water was broken and I felt the urge to push and yell through contractions lol my midwife said if I kept pushing I was going to make my cervix swell and I wouldn't VBAC. I opted for the epidural at 8cm. I started pushing around 6:35AM and at 6:42 she was born :) it was amazing.

Some of these stories seem like they were scary going in them. I plan to do this all natural if anyone was wondering and I refuse to let them give me pitocin ?? lol too many horror stories! I'm really hoping I can have the birth I want.

With my first I went into labor naturally at 40+1. I wasn't dilated enough until 40+2 to be admitted. Once I got there I was almost at 7 and I got an epidural. I absolutely loved it! But I stalled once I got it. They broke my water and I got to 8.5. Stalled a couple more hours. They administered pitocin and a while later I was finally ready to push at 11 pm. I pushed 3 hours. My kiddo was stuck crowning for 45 minutes of those. He was a big baby and apparently had also turned weird at the last minute of coming out. He got stuck on my pelvic bone. The doc reached up there and pulled his head while I pushed. That did the trick and he was born at 145 am. He had barely spent a minute on me and they took him away because he wasn't breathing right. He'd inhaled a bunch of fluid whike he was stuck and ended up spending about a week in the NICU :( He's healthy as can be now ;)

Irregular contractions started Sunday when I was 40+1. It took some time before they progressed and I was in active labor. Tuesday to be exact. I spent 12 hours laboring at home and at 1am Wednesday morning we headed to the hospital. I was only 3cm dialated but I got the epidural anyway at 3am. At 6am I was 6cm, they gave me pitocin and I told them I needed to push at 10a. They checked and I was 10cm. I didn't actually start pushing until 11a and my DS was born at 1:05p Wednesday at 6lb 7oz 19"

My first .... water broke on its own on my due date. Next day labor stopped so I took castor oil ... when labor started again I had my son in 3 hours in a birth center. I got to go home within 2 hours.

Second... I thought I could be in labor around noon the day after my due date. By six I thought maybe not. At ten I knew I was in labor. Got to the house at 11 pm and friends arrived at midnight and I had her at 3 at home.

Third ... due date came and passed and I could not sleep. Went to bed at 1 am and woke up at 3 with labor starting. I showered and told people at 5. People got there between 6 and 7. Then my labor stopped at 8 so I tried to sleep. 825 I had a 5 minute long contraction. Then I had my third baby at 915. At home.

All were natural and awesome.

I was due the 21st of sept (Monday) and I had a sweep done that day. The next day (Tuesday) I was getting alot of my show (sorry tmi) and around 6pm I felt a pop like my waters had broken. They didn't burst all over the place like I thought they just trickled. I went into the hospital at about 8pm and that's when I started getting contractions I was only 2cm gone. I had my epidural about 2 am and it was the best thing ever. By 7:30 am ( Wednesday) I was only 7cm and my babies heart rate was starting to get distressed so they decided that I was goin to have an emergency c - section. My gorgeous little boy was born at 8:31am Wednesday 23rd of Sept ♡. The contractions are hell I won't lie but u just have to keep telling urself that when u get the epidural it is heaven. U will only be in pain for a few hours. Good luck on ur birth ♡♡♡♡

Ds1 I got pre e at like 37w and had to be induced on my due date. Went in the night before where they slipped a pill up my ? to soften the cervix. About 8am contractions really started but were not that bad. Around maybe 7pm they came in to give me an epidural (It wasn't yet unbearable pain but it wasn't awesome either). As I'm about to get my epi my water broke. After that the pitocin and water breaking made my contractions come on hard in fast! Honestly it was f*** ing hell how hard they hit. It took like 45 min for epi to take affect, longest effing 45min ever! After that I was pretty mellow and calm and was actually able to sleep for a little. At 8 or 9 it was time to push, I pushed for a good 2 hours until my ds was finally born at 10:30pm! On a Friday night. They placed him right on my chest and he started crying after a good 10 seconds. My dh cried next to me and i was more in shock really, it felt surreal. Until my sweet little boy opened his huge brown eyes and looked right at me, my heart melted and I busted out in tears. I was so happy to meet that sweet little guy.

Dd2 I was feeling mild contractions here and there for a week and was having trouble sleeping this night. I woke up at around 8am to tell dh the contractions felt a little more consistent this time. I labored at home all day until about 5pm when they were at 5-1-1. I lived 45min from the hospital so we figured it was time to go in. We left ds with mil and drove to the hospital. They had a little area where they monitor you before checking you in to make sure you're ready to deliver. The nurse there was so awesome, she told us she was going to do everything she could to get us a room so they wouldn't send me back home. I was about a 6 or 7 in pain at that time and the Doctor came in to give me a membrane sweep. That kicked it into gear and I was barley able to walk to my room after they finally checked me in. Once in the room I was 6cm (3cm when I came in) and the contractions were coming on fast. I asked for the epi and the nurse realized I was 7cm and ran to get the epi rushed. I found out yesterday from dh that I was actually at a 9cm right before they did the epi. I was at a 10 in pain! So yeah I wanted the damn epi lol. The epi kicked in within 15min and I was able to relax. It slowed everything down enough so my mom and sister could actually make it in time for me to push. With ds I didn't feel anything, but with dd I felt pressure on my pubic bone, which was weird. She flew out in 2 pushes lol and same thing they put her on my chest. She cried quicker than ds did and didn't really stare at me but she was so perfect and tiny. She came at 10:31pm also on a Friday night lol. I was exactly 41w

I am now 37w along with ds3. I'm planning to get my tubes tied after this little man so no more babies for me after this. I love my babies!

DS1- Induced, got an epidural around 6 cm, was in labor for 7 hours. DS2- was not induced, had an unmedicated birth because progression was rapid, was in labor for 2 hours. I think I would choose an unmedicated birth again.

Do you swaddle?

How long did you swaddle? Was it hard to break the habit of them needing to be swaddled to sleep? Do you swaddle during the day or only at night? Please tell me everything about swaddling!!!

We swaddled both my kids until they could roll over efficiently, and only ever swaddled at night.
