Having a period does not necessarily mean that ovulation has taken place. Some women may have what is called an anovulatory cycle, (meaning ovulation has not occurred). During an anovulatory cycle, women may experience some bleeding which may appear to be a period, although this is actually not a true period.

I know but I've seen quite a few on here telling others that if you dont ovulate you can't have a period.

I think what they are trying to say is that you can have a period if you don’t ovulate and you will. It usually just takes longer than a woman that does ovulate regularly. Personally, when I wasn’t ovulating my cycles were 38 days long. Now that I am ovulating I have 29-30 days cycles.

Well im not gunna lie. I didn't know that you can still have a period and not ovulate. You learn something new every day
