There's no such thing as overdoing it when you're this EXTRA lol.
@brolan Thanks. Computer design has always been a hobby of mine, especially invitations. I made both my wedding and baby shower invites as well as the k you cards. It saves so much money. My wedding invites cost me $10 to make 50 and they looked professional. DH is always trying to get me to start an online invitation business but I've always felt if I turned a hobby into a job I would lose my passion for it so now I stick to my own parties and sometimes for friends lol.
Shari... not a US thing. I’m in Ontario and we’ve done lots of themed parties. I even had them when I was a kid. For my son we’ve done camo, lumberjax (his name is jax) and pirates. For my daughter I’ve planned a floral theme. I’m so excited for it. But nothings wrong with an intimate party and immediate family. Those are just as fun.
Mary everything is looking great. Very creative. I love making stuff for my kids parties. Makes it so fun.
I think like any party (baby showers, weddings, etc) it's about preference? I have no idea really but that would be my guess.
With my first son his 1st bday was a small family BBQ, cause at the time that's what worked for my ex and his family. They are very salt of the earth, no frills family. It was lovely and we have lots of great pictures and memories from it.
Damien's party could have gone either way. We're actually having a small dinner at our house with just my parents on his actual birthday, the party is more just because I love planning parties lol. I'm also very DIY so it helps a lot.
My older boy turns 13 this year (?)and I asked him if he wanted a big party, but he is choosing to have like 4 friends over for pizza and video games. So again in my opinion parties are definitely based on preference. A "You do You" kind of thing lol.
You're awesome Mary!!! Very creative!!!
Can I just say its so neat to hear everyone's details on themed birthday parties! We just dont do that where I'm from. I'm wondering if its just our city or tradition to not do themed parties. Our usual here is small family "watch baby eat his/her cake" immediate family/grandparents....thats it....
Educate me please...is this a US thing...I'm thinking no...and maybe its just where I'm from we're just a small island and in many ways slow paced and boring lol.....would love to hear if theres any history behind yours?
I used Microsoft paint for all of it and printed the food labels on 4×6 blank index cards leaving a .5 margin on the bottom. Then I cut them and folded the bottom.
Chase is on the case! And Damiens favorite too lol. Lorenzo has good taste!
Invites, puppy themed food labels, thank you tags for the adopt a puppy favors and adoption certificates made by yours truly lol
Well you do a very good job that’s for sure! I don’t mind making invites but I more like making decorations. And just the over all planning is really fun for me.
