Rant...

Don't get me wrong, I love room sharing, but not with a baby who sleeps like ?. I'm laying in the dark trying to be as quiet as possible... afraid to even fart cause it might wake him up (true story it happened Monday night), and if he wakes up he won't go back down until 1:30/2am. I also don't want to risk sneaking out of the room cause we have hardwood floors that are fine during the day but sound like an air strike once nighttime hits whenever anyone walks on them.

I made the mistake of not having Millie's room ready by 6 months. Room sharing has been the best thing for us up to 6mths because I had to breastfeed her often.

Now it's a nightmare. I can handle my husband's snoring but our daughter wakes up on every snort. She gets upset, I boob feed her back to sleep and the cycle goes on.

Millies room still needs some work, but nearly there. Just as well. I know my husband is not doing it on purpose, but every time he wakes her I fantasize about different ways of killing him.

No way will I room share this long again ?

Haha!!! Mary I feel the same about the floors! We have an old farmhouse and every step I make from putting her down into her crib, all the way out the door, creaks! It never fails!!! EVERY STEP!! I kinda stop breathing and stand very still everytime, thinking she will wake up. Ugh it's the worst!!

Have you considered a sound machine? They’re great for blocking out those noises and help me sleep a little better too! I use with both my babies and it lets me get stuff done while they nap during the day, without worrying I’ll wake them - our walls seem like they’re paper thin ?

I hear you! My daughter slept in our room until she was 9-10 months old. With my son we were moving him out at 5 months because my husband thrashes around like a crazy person in his sleep, and it would wake him up. We had a sound machine, and that didn’t even help. We all sleep much better now.

We have a box fan and a sound machine. Still some loud noises wakes her up. But it’s better than not having anything.

We had to put Nadya in our other childrens walk-in closet which fits a double bed and dresser-its that big....because we were just like you and she was waking over every noise. I ran into a girl who told me she put her baby in the playpen in the bathroom at night until they had the space...whatever works. I totally know where you're coming from.

Yes!!!!! Every time she stirs I wake up and lay so still and I barely breath. I’m afraid to even get out of bed at night to go to the bathroom. My husband on the other hand coughs the loudest and most at night. Rolls and makes the loudest noises. This morning I had to wake him up cause his snores sounded like a train horn.

Thank you for the white noise machine idea. DH and I are going to look into one cause once Dami goes down its like we are trapped in our bed.

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment and my older boy is in the other room so we have no choice but to room share until either Dami is old enough for his own bed in his bros room or we get the money to move into a bigger place, so all the advice is appreciated!

I'm with ya Mary!! We live in a small apartment and have just had to make it work...hence why she slept in our room for 7 months and I was beyond sleep deprived. Guess what...we take our bed to the living room every night to sleep...its not for everyone but I was turning into a crazy loon without sleep. We were supposed to have a house built this summer but just found out two weeks ago that it cant be built until spring 2019....its being built by Habitat for Humanity and we're just thankful overall so theres no room for complaining. Who knows what could happen between now and then anyways so were happy and hopeful. Anyways...we're sleeping in the living room and we both keep talking about how its been the absolute best sleep of our lives. So all that to say I know where you're coming from.

@Shari.. I suggested the moving the bed to the living room cause I've been sleeping on the couch occasionally when he's up until 1am and I need to work, but it was a no go lol. I was met with hubby saying "we'll get through this soon" ?

And grats on Habitat! That's awesome news!

We don't room share unless we are traveling but baby sleeps with a sound machine and when we do share I have a free app on my phone that we use for white noise. If you don't mind being away from your phone it's worth a shot.
