Period Talk.. Let's be real (help please)
TMI to follow.... (It's taken me this long to be comfortable sharing this)
Did they check if your uterus went back to your expected size?
My periods increased in heaviness slightly - but I’m thinking the uterus never goes back to the same size - so slightly bigger uterus = slightly heavier periods.
PCOS does not go away on its own. But having temporary relive stages is common.
At this point I would definitely contact your doctor - if it has been around 6 cycles for you. It takes a while to get back to normal.
Also - CYCLE LENGHT BUDDIES!! ?
For real. I thought about putting on Depends!! I use the same as you. Always Overnight, and i went through a whole bag (33 pads) my first PP period. I'm not comfortable wearing tampons yet, cuz they are so heavy. I'm currently ending my second cycle PP. I've been told, having a baby kinda....cleanses your reproductive system. Kinda makes it, like new again? If that makes sense?? So maybe the PCOS went away temporarily. I'm not sure it goes away on it's own permanently. I was diagnosed with it like, 11 years ago by my old Dr. My new Dr (2 years ago) was like, "umm...you don't have it." So I'm not sure!! But I do hope the heavy periods go away for you!!
I can definitely relate with my period being ALOT heavier after baby! BUT im currently on my first pp period so thats why id imagine its so bad... im hoping that it goes back regular after a cycle or two. Im so sorry youre going through this Mary! Aunt Flo needs to back the eff off!
@April, thanks for trying. ❤. It's not causing any health issues, just annoying so I may give it one more cycle.
@Raman, metformin is actually what gave us our miracle baby and how I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was given it for pre-diabetes and got pregnant within 2 months after 5+ years of trying lol and my OB put 2 and 2 together and got me tested
@Temk, I've been curious about the cup. What brand do you use?
I definitely have the same issue. What I did was get a menstrual cup. This way you can actually measure the loss. When I told my dr how much there was she prescribed me some blood thickeners. They make it so I don't have to sit outside a bathroom all day. Good luck. It is so incapacitating.
Thank you April.
I'm very active at my job, constantly moving, very physical.. but maybe I should throw in some exercise.
I can’t relate to having a heavy period. But I have noticed in the past that if I was very active, my periods were lighter. When I took long breaks from the gym, I would have bad cramps and heavier periods. I have a friend who has PCOS. I’ll ask her how hers were post baby and if it ever got better.
I'm not on any birth control. It's insane how much our bodies change. Question, when your periods were heavy was their anything that worked to lighten them up? I really can't take much more of it and wearing adult diapers and bladder protection pads isn't exactly helping my moods but I can't afford to ruin anymore sheets. Pre-baby when I did get a period it was what I would consider heavy but nothing like this. I just don't want to run to my Dr over a "heavy period".
Mine has turned into the opposite. Side being on the pill I’ve only had light spotting which is all thick old blood. Whenever I go to the bathroom it’s already dry and it’s almost gummy. And I’ll spot for 3 days with horrible cramping. Before my period was 4-5 days and was HEAVY the first two days and cramping was horrendous. I don’t like the fact I have this old blood just sitting in me. It’s like brown black by the time it comes out but my OB didn’t seem concerned
My dr told to expect heavy periods for the first 9 cycles once period returns. He said it has to do with the fact you did get a period for 9m
God help me when my cycle returns seeing I didn't even have 9periods between my 2 pregnancies
