Ahh. My LO just started holding and gnawing on his teething toys. Maybe those would help? He likes when they're refrigerated but only if I hold it in his mouth lol so we usually just let him have them room temp

I tried every one with my son he just didn't like them and the same is happening with my daughter I'm devastated because it's so much easier when they have one but unfortunately if they don't like them then they never will ? it's better a couple of years later though not having the struggle of tasking them away.

@mama tried it. It's the kind on the wubba nubba. I ended up removing it cause he was more interested in the elephant trunk of the plushie lol.

Try the soothie pasifires all my babies stopped taking passifire around this time too. I guess we don't want them having them forever. But this passifire worked for a while.

@mrskfergs, that's what this post was mainly about.. ideas of other ways to soothe him. He definitely wants to suck though, just not the pacifier or his hands.

I put my pinky in the bottle nipple and offered it to him just to see and he calmed right down and took his first afternoon nap ever ?

I should have mentioned he sleeps fine during the night, it's just during his cranky time during the day he wants something.

Does he absolutely HAVE to have one? We never offered one to my LO and he's fine. He sucks on his hands sometimes and makes a sucking motion in his sleep as if something is in there lol but other than that, he's good. Can you soothe him without it?

Yea my son really didn't want a pacifier whatsoever and I only had one type. I wanted to see if a different nipple shape would work better so I got pacifiers with the more "flat" shape and he likes them! Mostly only wants a binky when he's tired for a nap or for bed, but at least we don't have to like force it anymore

My daughter loved Mam pacifiers and my son hates pacifiers!! We've literally tried every brand but he just doesn't want anything to do with it so we've officially given up! He sucks on his fingers and at night we have to soothe him however it'll settle in probably another couple weeks when they will learn to self soothe!

Enzo used to take and love the Nuk pacifiers but for a couple of weeks now he doesn't want a pacifier at all. There have only been a couple of times when he took it. He loves to suck on his fingers and thumb or my fingers. But I'd rather him use a pacifier than his thumb. I bought him some soothties, but he doesn't love those either. I'll keep trying, maybe he will change his mind. ??‍♀️

Hmm ? the mam nipples are weired Kinleigh hated the bottles so I'm not sure. To me there more like a flatter nipple have to tried the Dr Brown binkies? I know they have a few I'll post the ones I bought Kinleigh she didn't take it because the nipple wasn't fat like the bottle nipples she has.

The mam binky is the closest we've gotten to him tolerating one. He won't let the others near his mouth but he'll accept the mam as long as we hold it. The second we remove our hand though even if he is asleep he'll spit or swipe it right out and wake up.

If he didn't need to suck to soothe I don't think I would even care lol.

Yea they say back in the day thats what they used to do was stuff the nipple. I feel like so many things have changed from years ago. Kinleigh used the soothie binkies then we switched to the Tommee Tippee. I bought Dr brown ones she hates those and will not use the soothie ones anymore ?? picky babies. I mean it wouldn't hurt to email the company. He wont even take a mam binky? All my other kids all like certain kinds so I know how u feel, maybe he just doesn't want it I know some babies never take a binky. I would email them and give it a try and see what they say

I'm with ya. Can't remember the last time I tried giving her one. She hates them!! She has just discovered her thumb about a week ago!

We've tried all of them All in different sizes too. We literally went to 3 different stores and bought one of each in each size ? (we had coupons but still lmao). I read the cotton ball thing but alot of sites said it's not safe. Someone did suggest writing to Mam, explaining the situation and seeing if we can get a nipple without the hole.

It's just a lot of work if I can find something else that works to soothe. I swear, this boy is gonna give me a run for my money lol. I couldn't have given him anymore of my stubbornness if I cloned him lmao.

Have u offered other kinds of binkies? My mother in law said to stuff a cotton ball in her soothie but idk if i feel safe doing that if it falls out. But she doesnt even use those binkies anymore
