Nutramigen vs Alimentum smell

Scent sensitivity is no fun. Normally I just avoid or remove bad smells, but since I can't escape I'm going to give it a try. At work I can't escape smells, I work with special needs children and toileting is part of the job so I normally just put lotion under my nose.. but it didn't work for the Similac. Not to mention the random spit up on clothing smell I wasnt prepared for lol. So I read a bunch of stuff and this lavender salve is supposed to be long lasting and cover 99% of odors, so we'll see.

Thanks @shantal. I'm hoping I can tolerate the smell better than the Similac Alimentum but I'll find a way regardless. I definitely agree as long as my little one is better I'll be happy.

I found a lavender salve to put under my nostrils, it's supposed to cover smells so we're getting some this weekend (id use Vicks but I'm allergic to menthol)

My daughters were on nutramigen and I honestly didn't mind the smell. Though their poop was very stinky. But then again, I'd rather take the smell and then be happy babies. Hope it works for your baby as well as it did for my daughters. We noticed a change within 24 hrs.

So, never mind.. his tummy is acting up so I called his Dr and she is putting him on Nutramigen.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. We didn't see any further improvement with the Similac than we did with just the gas drops and gripe water so we went back to the regular enfamil and he seems fine so see.

My baby is using nutramagien it does smell a lil fishy idk it's a weird smell

We have had horrible luck with nutramigen! It gave my daughter horrible diarrhea which is normal for that formula and it smelled like death! It made her spit up more than before and it was clear and it smelled even worse than the formula did! It's a thinner formula so spitting up is more frequent is what I was told.

I found nutrimagen smelt like rotten potatoes... used it for a year with my daughter. Worst is when you find a lost bottle. ?

Both of my boys have been on alimentum! It basically smells like dog food! Lol! My friend had her little guy on nutraigem and it smelled too, but to me it didn't smell as bad!

It takes a good 2 weeks for the new formula to get in and the old get out! But with both my boys after 5 days I could tell a big difference!
