Rude? Hubby says no, I'm just being easily offened. I wasn't upset, but kind of taken aback by it.

My boys are small specially my oldest so I've always heard how tiny he is. I don't get offended because he is small but one friend does get on my nerves because she tells me multiple times every time I see he that they're so small and short and laughs. I tell her I know they're small but what matters is that they're healthy and he just says yea but they're so tiny.

@pp. Hence the reason I asked if I was overreacting lol, I figured it wasn't rude and I was just being oversensitive. I'm actually glad I asked cause there has been some great feedback ?❤ and I realize I gotta relax a little.

yeah. you're being hormonal. lol I ask sometimes if i think a child/baby was a preemie because my daughter was premature. i like to meet others that have children that were as well. it interests me. i never mean harm by it.

@poison I understood what you meant.

@Nancy--No I'm not!!! I just said there's nothing at all wrong with having a preemie but she was feeling some type of way so I said maybe that could be the issue. I think you're just trying to stir the pot because I don't in any way, shape or form think there is anything wrong with a preemie.

One of my family members has a daughter that is smaller because she has a genetic condition and my cousin always gets upset when people comment on how small she is because she doesn't want anything to look different about her daughter. That's all....So many kids look different whether they're preemie, were born right on time, were late...etc. Doesn't mean anything at all!

My baby was 3 days late and was still tiny. He is 10 weeks old now and I still get told how tiny he is. It doesn't really bother me because to me he is huge compared to when he was born

Only you know the disposition of the individual that asked if he was a preemie.

Personally, it may have been annoying but she likely was just trying to ask a genuinely innocent question. Maybe she had a preemie too; sounds like a fairly innocent and not too outrageous question.

My first was born at 32 weeks and when people find out he's the oldest I still get asked if he was a premie and he's 6. I'm never offended by it.

@poision- your implying that a preemie isn't perfect, is different or has something wrong with them.

I can see it touched a sensitive spot, but it wasn't something to get worked up over.

I can understand why that question can hit a sensitive spot. But I am sure she was just genuinely curious.

People always ask my sister if my niece was a preemie. She was born full term but was so tiny she could barely fit into doll sized clothes. She just turned 6 a month ago and she wears size 4t clothes.

My twins were born at 30 weeks and spent 7 weeks in nicu, they were about 5 pounds when they came home. I was told all the time that they were little guys and asked if they were preemies. I never took it offensively.

I can see why you might feel a little hurt by the question. Not that there's anything at all wrong with having a preemie but we all want our babies to be perfect and nothing to look different about them. That's probably why you were feeling a little weird about it. Or maybe I'm totally off hahaha

I wouldn't be offended tbh I have small babies and I was always told how tiny they were it never bothered me as long as baby was healthy and they weren't being b!tchy about it, it's just a question.

Its pretty common when you have a tiny baby to get the was baby premature questions. It's not something most people ask to be inappropriate but rather to have a baseline of what is baby's overall condition. Because full term infants are typically much larger at 2 months we all know this. And when babies are smaller people wonder why

I feel the same way as Nancy. This makes no sense. My twins were premies but obviously no one asked as twins usually come early anyway. However I would have never been offended if someone did ask. I'm confused by this.

@pp definitely not an insult to have a preemie that's why I didn't understand why I felt the way I did about the comment my other son was a 36 weeker so it shouldn't have really caught me off guard

If he's itty bitty, I don't see anything wrong with the question. I doubt she meant any offense.

I got a lot of questions if my son was "overcooked" because he was a big baby. People just get curious.

If he's small i can understand why they asked. I don't see anything offensive in the comment especially as he was a premmie.

Overreacting. I think it was an innocent question asked out of curiosity.
