Rude?
Hubby says no, I'm just being easily offened. I wasn't upset, but kind of taken aback by it.
@pp. Hence the reason I asked if I was overreacting lol, I figured it wasn't rude and I was just being oversensitive. I'm actually glad I asked cause there has been some great feedback ?❤ and I realize I gotta relax a little.
@Nancy--No I'm not!!! I just said there's nothing at all wrong with having a preemie but she was feeling some type of way so I said maybe that could be the issue. I think you're just trying to stir the pot because I don't in any way, shape or form think there is anything wrong with a preemie.
One of my family members has a daughter that is smaller because she has a genetic condition and my cousin always gets upset when people comment on how small she is because she doesn't want anything to look different about her daughter. That's all....So many kids look different whether they're preemie, were born right on time, were late...etc. Doesn't mean anything at all!
I can understand why that question can hit a sensitive spot. But I am sure she was just genuinely curious.
People always ask my sister if my niece was a preemie. She was born full term but was so tiny she could barely fit into doll sized clothes. She just turned 6 a month ago and she wears size 4t clothes.
I can see why you might feel a little hurt by the question. Not that there's anything at all wrong with having a preemie but we all want our babies to be perfect and nothing to look different about them. That's probably why you were feeling a little weird about it. Or maybe I'm totally off hahaha
Its pretty common when you have a tiny baby to get the was baby premature questions. It's not something most people ask to be inappropriate but rather to have a baseline of what is baby's overall condition. Because full term infants are typically much larger at 2 months we all know this. And when babies are smaller people wonder why
@pp definitely not an insult to have a preemie that's why I didn't understand why I felt the way I did about the comment my other son was a 36 weeker so it shouldn't have really caught me off guard
Thanks yeah I figured I was overreacting a little I was just never asked it before so it kind of caught me off guard
My boys are small specially my oldest so I've always heard how tiny he is. I don't get offended because he is small but one friend does get on my nerves because she tells me multiple times every time I see he that they're so small and short and laughs. I tell her I know they're small but what matters is that they're healthy and he just says yea but they're so tiny.
