Woke up and dream fed for 40ish minutes and went right back to sleep! Guess which momma has enough energy to shower today!
Can't wait to reach the 7-9week mark as thats when my ddaughter slept 6hrs straight. I felt like superwoman that day and had woken up 30mins b4 bubs usual wakeup time, managed to wash her bottles, mop the floors, change kitty litter and even shower the kitties. Never hought it was possible to get so much stuff done and still have time to make a cup of coffee..
Initial weeks are torture but i always feel the more time you invest and spend trying or learning to do the right things with bubs, then you will reap the benefits later.
No problem! I wish I read that sooner bc we think we were actually underfeeding our girl. She was gaining weight still but just more cranky and would wake up starving after only short periods of time. I guess they just grow so fast that it's hard to keep up. I thought we were gonna overfeed her. We have her at 4 ounces but she'll be 5 weeks Monday so I'm gonna offer 5 ounces next feed and see what she does with it. She definitely refuses to eat when she's had enough so I guess she'll let me know. I hope it buys longer stretches of sleep at night.
@kate have you tried upping his amounts each feeding. I was reading today that a baby should be eating about their age - age + an ounce. So for a 4 week old a bottle should be 4-5 ounces and for a 6 week old it would be 6-7 ounces. It said to do this until 8 weeks/8 ounces. It was in the 'practically perfect baby' website. I just stumbled upon it but it has a lot of good stuff.
@shantal. It's called Feed Baby. It's great, it tracks everything and puts it in graph form.
@lf he never really naps during the day :( so at night we've been getting long stretches. I love it.
You go mama!
@if1, is the amounts you explained for breast or formula fed babies? My guy is breast but when he eats from the bottle has about 2oz per feed only. He seems pretty satisfied with that, but he is three weeks, I wonder if I should be offering more! ?
