Tired as mother!
What can I do to try to get Jack to sleep through the night??? I’m so tired of being tired! He slept better as a newborn than he does now! Ever since he turned 6 months old, he went from waking up once a night to waking up multiple times. The longest stretch of sleep he gives me is 3 hours. SOMETIMES 4 if I’m lucky. And now that I’m working, I NEED sleep (since I can’t take naps at work).

She will sometimes wake up once throughout the night, around 1 or 2am. When this happens, SO goes in and rocks her back to sleep. If that don't put her back to sleep after 5 mins, I'll go in and nurse her back to sleep. But usually the rocking alone works.
But as far as getting him to sleep all night? I would maybe try changing a few things up in your schedule/routine. See if that makes a difference.

I have to agree with pp ? Parker screams until he pukes and he gets extremely clingy the following day. He won’t let me ever sit him down. Unfortunately cio isn’t a miracle worker all the time

Have you tried bottle at night with your hubby? My lo still gets up once for a feed and I'm not trying to wean him from that, but I do recall one of my kiddos moving from nursing to bottles at night and then gradually reducing the ounces over time until it eliminated. Just another approach I hadn't heard you consider yet. Cio isn't always a miracle worker either. Our first would puke. Which was awful and we obviously didn't continue then. Just don't want you to have all your hopes on it working immediately or effectively. Bc it often doesn't!

If he isn’t eating long at all it sounds like he has a huge sleep association with nursing
Have you thought of gentler approaches that don’t require CIO? Maybe your MIL will be more willing with one of the other methods

It’s reassuring to know Jack isn’t the only one still waking a lot at night! It’s just rough.
Em- how did it go??? Let us know how it worked out for y’all!
I’ve tried rocking him, but he just gets worked up and angry and even harder to settle. He will also root around for the boob until I give in and let him nurse.

I’ve heard the same thing ??. My brother and sister in law had to do three nights of letting her CIO and she now sleeps 11 hours a night. Can you just ask your MIL to stay at a hotel or wear ear plugs for a few days? She’ll probably be on board if it means everyone will eventually get more sleep. Also sounds like he is comfort nursing. What does he do if you go in and just rock him? No feeding? That might help too, so that he does not associate waking at night with nursing. Good luck ?

I’m no help. Miller was sleeping in his bed, only waking once and now he’s back in bed with us and STILL waking up 2 or 3 times. We went away for the weekend, I’ve heard a lot of people swear that staying a night or 2 away from baby is the best way to get them to sleep through the night ??♀️

Same here she used to sleep well before starting solids but now it’s horrible. She is restless while sleeping and keeps moving. Yesterday she didn’t have anything for dinner, I just nursed her before sleep. She slept well only woke up two times instead of every 1 hour. After a long period of time I got some sleep. I don’t what else to do. I am planning to keep a gap of 4 hours between her meal and bedtime hoping it would work.

Same problem here! ? He wakes up about 3 times after putting him to bed at 7:00 pm-usually like 11:00 pm, 1:00 am and then 3:00 am and gets up for the day at 7/8 am. Wish I could just get that full 12/13 hours! He likes to comfort nurse. My husband and I are going to Europe next week for 5 Days just the two of us. I’m scared about my Moms and my Mother in Laws sanity and/or if he’ll actually go back to sleep without me to nurse him.

I could have written this. I'm desperate. Every night is worse than the last. It's like she wakes almost every hour and now my almost 3 year old is getting up multiple times too. It's pure hell. It feels like tourture and it's depressing me at times. I want to try cio with the baby but I'm worried about her waking my toddler--especially if she decides to wake up in the middle of the night and I need to make her cio then. I'm so lost and tired I don't know where to start. Please LMK if you find a solution and I'll do the same!

In interested reading the comments. Reading the post felt as if I wrote it word for word. The longest stretch for me is also 3 hours and 4 when I’m lucky. Its my second child and my first wasn’t like that at all. This one keeps waking up not only to feed but just to stay up and make all sorts of noises. We really don’t sleep much. Last night hubby gave her a bottle and she still wasn’t happy until I nursed her. I never thought it would be that hard at this point so just know that you are not alone. I also can’t let her cry because she is super loud and I don’t want my toddler to wake up. Please message me if you find a solution in the future. I would be interested trying..

Unfortunately I’m no help. Parker is finally sleeping where he half wakes up once at night but goes right back to sleep
The only “solution” we’ve had is that 3 of his top teeth cut in one night, the last a few nights later and his other bottom tooth was with the last top tooth. He now has 6 teeth where as a little over a month ago he had none
And he was the same way, he was screaming at night and the only thing that helped was the bottle and he would chug some, put it to the side and fall back asleep
We also stopped fighting him on his crib now that he smacks his head against the bars in protest and will scream until he throws up. We went back to cosleeping and I’m researching the Montessori bed method to see if that will be better for him
But unfortunately i know some kids just don’t sleep through the night until they’re older
My nephew is two and still gets up at least once a night. Hopefully things get easier for you!!
