Night sleep struggle
I don’t know what to do ladies. It seems like Jack’s naps got soooo much better just for his night time sleep to turn to crap. I noticed his constant night wakings started when he started solids. He went from waking once a night to every 2 hours now.

Mine was waking pretty much hourly for a little while and I would nurse her each time. It was the same, she would only eat like 2 minutes then go back to sleep. She just stopped one night without me doing anything differently, she just went back to her regular one, maybe two night times waking up at night.

I laughed when you said your hubby said, "I think he's hungry "....
Well it hasn't been any better in our room. Last night Nadya was up every two hours and at 4am my husband said, "you feed her and I'll take her out to settle her so you can sleep". But if I feed her she goes back to sleep so I'm like you and leaning on feeding just so we can all go back to sleep.

I was expecting Jack to go back to his old waking routine by now. He’s done this before, but it has never lasted this long.
My mil and her husband go on vacation soon, so I’m planning on trying to sleep train when they aren’t here. Just so Jack doesn’t disturb the entire household. It wouldn’t be fair to them.
Someone has expressed to me multiple times their concern for his night wakings. They think it’s due to him not getting enough solid meals. But Jack eats solids 3 times a day and sometimes gets snacks. He gets breast milk around 430, solids around 530-6. Then around 615 I “top him off” with more milk before he goes down for the night around 630-7. So I know he’s not going to bed on a completely empty stomach.
Babies can be confusing

I've been so tired that when he wakes up in the middle of the night I bring him to my bed to nurse him and end up falling asleep with my boob out for him to nurse while I'm sleeping

Sleep training while they’re out sounds like a great idea. Also it seems like he’s having plenty of solids, I can’t imagine his waking has anything to do with solids. Especially since from what you’ve said he was sleeping well at night even before you started solids.

Please share your best sleep training advice. I'm a newbie

I just joined a sleep training group on Facebook called Sleep Training Group- Advice from Experts that has actual sleep training consultants that know multiple methods that you can try. They can also provide maybe other reasons as to why he’s not sleeping. I’d highly suggest you join it!

I’m not sure how many naps he’s taking a day or how close his last nap is to bed time, but Kennedy was napping 3-5 times a day with her last nap sometimes only being an hour before her bed time. I also tried to have her go to sleep earlier (normal bed time is 8-8:30) at 7-7:30 which led to her sleeping only 2-3 hours max at night. I cut out one of her naps and I keep her awake for at least 2-3 hours before bed time and I’ve moved it back to her normal bed time of 8-8:30 and she’s only been waking up once a night now.
I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence, but I swear her having less naps has made a huge difference with her night time sleep! Just a thought :)

Also I realized you said he still doesn’t have any teeth.. her bottom two cut about two weeks ago and that’s when she started sleeping longer stretches so maybe his are about to pop through!

I was just about to suggest teething.
My LO is getting his canines (top fangs) which he shouldn’t be getting until approx 16 months ? (he only has his two bottom teeth already) but he has gone from waking once or twice a night to every 1.5-2hrs for the last week and half. Killer!!!! Good news is, if it is teething as soon as the teeth break through he should go back to his original sleeping routine. ????
Also, have you heard of the wonder weeks ? I highly recommend the app if you haven’t. It’s works amazingly for me and explains so much in bubs behavior.

Her sleep is kinda sporadic. There was a time a few weeks ago she would wake up, every night at 2am. On the dot. I'd nurse her, she's back down in her crib a half hour later. Sleeps til 9-10am. These past few nights she slept through the night. 4 nights in a row!! One night she slept all the way til 11am! And then last night, woke up 2 hours after I put her down, and would NOT go back to sleep until 4am. Then woke up at 10am. My point is, every baby will do what they want. Regardless of "training." We do the exact same thing every night for bedtime, and her sleep is still random. It's a guessing game every night! Lol
I can just hope Jack is going through a phase and he won't be waking so often.

Thanks ladies. I’m hoping he gets teeth soon and we see some sort of improvement on his sleep.
Cailyn- I’m not on Facebook. Do you know if they have any other sites where I could get some advice??
Jack takes 2-3 naps a day. His first one is always around 930-10 and that one lasts over an hour. His 2nd one is usually at 230-3. And if we are out and about, he will fall asleep in the car seat. He doesn’t nap past 5 and his bedtime is usually 630 (7 at he latest).
I found an article last night saying that some babies actually sleep worse when starting solids. And I think Jack falls in that category. He was sleeping fine until a month ago. I chalked it up to teething and a growth spurt. But now he’s out of the growth spurt and his sleep still sucks. I’m really at a loss now.
Jade- he’s too much of a wiggle worm for me to keep him in our bed. And he doesn’t fall asleep nursing anymore. So that wouldn’t work for me either ?

I had to start recording what I give him because I noticed some things upset his tummy at night. He’d sleep horribly and he’d have such painful gas. I’m trying to be more persistent in wake times and having him put himself to sleep but with a cold that’s never ending and not 1, not 2, but EIGHT teeth right under the surface, he’s just miserable

Don’t go get him right away when he wakes up. Have your husband settle him so he doesn’t get frustrated when you don’t feed him. Let him cry a bit and realize it’s no use, just go back to sleep. It worked for us. He slept for 10 hours without feeding.
Oh, don’t let him fall asleep on you nursing and put him down. Then when he wakes up, he wants breast. I made that mistake and paid for it last night.
