Bambish- You can shop online at babies r us and get free shipping on orders over $29. That might give you more options than your store.

Safety kit sounds like a good idea or a grooming kit. I got a nice one with a comb, brush, nose aspirator, nail clip, files, and thermometer ? and a few other things too.

For my first I bought 4 regular towels and got 2 hooded towels as gifts. Now she likes both but before she realized the one had a bunny hood she didn't care. They regular ones did the job.

I have 3 and 1 not hooded. I could get by with two....

I think I'll return them and get something that he will actually need and use then. I got them with a babies-r-us gift card that I got from my shower, but where I live we only have a Toys-r-us and the baby isle it literally TWO rows. They didn't have a whole lot to choose from. Maybe I'll get like a "safety kit" or medicine instead. Any recommendations on those items?

None. We have three that just sit in the closet. Regular towels are bigger and easier. The hooded ones are cute when they are older.

We bought them and maybe only used them a few times before we switched to regular towels. The hooded ones was so thin and we have thick fluffy ones we use on ourselves anyways. I'm not worried about it this time around.

We have 4 - 1 white one, 2 pink ones, and one dark colored one. This way I have one for each type of laundry load I do lol

Im a ftm but im going to use regular towels for baby. I plan on buying about 3 really good thick and fluffy/ soft towels for only baby's use and thats all. Hooded towels usually dont even stay on their heads and are sometimes really thin so i would think they would cold faster. That's my two cents

None. I find hooded towels don't work well for babies. They don't like things on their head and they don't fit them very well either. Just use a regular towel. Our daughter FINALLY likes them at 2.5 and it makes sense now because it'll actually stay on her head and she thinks the unicorn hood is fun

I had three for my daughter but only use two. Third one I'm going to use on second one due 8 May so will just get another one for her.

I use muslin swaddling cloths for drying. They absorb all the water instantly and dry super quickly so I don't have to worry about mildew (it's humid most of the year here and wet things go funky fast)

I had several and my daughter hates them. We now have a ton of really cute and soft ones but use our regular towels. LOL. Go figure.

Thanks ladies! I'll stick with what I have then. I use my own towel 3 times and then switch out for another. I'll probably do the same for him unless he decides to poop or pee while in the towel ?

Depends on how often you want to or can do laundry. We don't have a washer or dryer in our apt so I'm getting a few extra on things like that bc I know we won't be able to do laundry as often as others.

I think two would be plenty! My theory with towels is you are drying off a clean body so using it a few times is ok. We have command hooks that we hang SS up on the back of the bathroom door.

I have like 6 hooded towels!!! ? all of them of which i didnt buy. I didnt buy a single towel. People bought them or gave them away.

I only ever had two with both my boys. Babies don't need baths very often. Even when you start bathing them more frequently they don't get very dirty, so you can use each towel a couple times before washing them.

I never actually used hooded towels. Just regular ones. I feel like it gets them dry just as quick then a hat on and Jammie's

Depends how often you want to do laundry! We typically did baths every other day. I had two to start with and then bought more. My toddler currently uses them and I have like 5 since I only do her laundry once a week.
