Next baby
So my LO is 3 weeks old, dh and I really want to have our kids close in age and we're trying to figure out when to start trying again.

I feel like you should play it by ear. Wait until you feel physically and mentally ready. You don't want to stress your mind/body when you don't need to, especially when caring for such a young baby. Get in a good routine, start exercising/losing the baby weight, reach your goals, and then when you feel the time is right, start trying! I don't think putting a time restraint on it is worth doing, because you'll just stress yourself out and rush it when you're not ready.

I got pregnant with DD when DS1 was 6 months. I then got pregnant with DS2 when DD was 6 months. They are 14 months apart. I love watching them grow together. DS1 and DD are best friends now that they are both toddlers.

I got pregnant with my 2nd when my 1st was 2and half months old! They're less than a year apart.
I really hated it and suffered from PPD.
It was so difficult and I would never plan children close in age ever again.
They are now 3&4 years old.

Oh my, at 3 weeks don't jinx yourself by calling her a good sleeper ? Knock on wood, mama

I have a 2YO, 1YO, and 3 week old. We're going to start trying for baby number 4 around May. DD1&2 are 12 months apart, DD2&3 are 13 months apart. I love having my kids close in age. My doctor haven't said anything to me regarding back to back pregnancies. I would recommend trying at this 6 months mark.

My doctor always recommended 12-18m inbetween getting pregnant if you had a normal healthy pregnancy without complication. Your body needs time to heal. I got pregnant again when my first was 16m and then again when my second was 15m.

I felt back to my normal self health wise around 13-14 months after having my first. But this 2nd pregnancy I'm much more tired I think I wasn't as fully fit as I thought. But I liked the idea of having two with two year age gap.
Is wait until you feel back to pre pregnancy health before discussing times.

They recommend for your body to heal for a year so you can get all your vitamins and stuff back into your body for next baby. You need to replenish your body first.

Thanks for the link @pp.
so far my LO is an awesome baby, she's quiet, and she's a great sleeper. If everything stays like this, then I really wouldn't mind having another baby soon.
I am concerned about my relationship with my daughter though. We bedshare, and I wear my LO around the house, I don't want to push her aside for a new baby. I love her so much I can't imagine sharing that with another baby, especially not so soon.

I got pregnant when DS was 6 months old, I'm 14 weeks along so far. Pregnancy #2 is actually easier than the first, but I am feeling the soreness a lot sooner. My son isn't really an easy baby (horrible sleeper, difficult to travel with bc he hates the car, just overall high energy) but it hasn't been that bad honestly. Of course we will see when baby is here lol but honestly I'm glad I got pregnant when I did. DS still naps pretty well so I nap when he naps, he's crawling but not insanely mobile so he's easier to keep up with. Plus I have all of his stuff to use for new baby!

My kids are 26 months apart, 20 months apart, 18 months apart and the last two will be 11 months apart! Lol
It's more up to you. As it's your body. Give yourself some time to get used to this baby and reach the goals you want to. Or take it month by month or every 2 months or whatever! .

Here is a good article that discusses recommendations for length of time for letting your body heal and replenish iron and vitamin stores before becoming pregnant again. 18-24 months if you are under 35. 12 months if you are over 35.

I think it just depends on the person. I lost all the weight I gained in a month and got pregnant about 3 months after ds1. They're 12 months and a couple days apart.

Easy for him to say. Pregnancy takes a toll, so don't let yourself be rushed. I honestly think it's best to play it by ear. Physically you'll know when you're ready, and I think a lot of it depends on how things go with the first baby - does he sleep well, is he easy-going, etc.
For me, I wasn't ready until about a year. My son was 13mos when I got pregnant with #2, so they'll be 22mos apart.
