Same sex DCDA Twins... Hello, does anyone here have same sex DCDA twins?

I jave same sex di/di twins, dr said could be identical. I guess even more so cause my uncles are.

I can't wait to find out the sex of mine. I have a feeling they will be the same sex.

In the uk I had a look and it was around £29 for the kit and £100 for the test itself.

I wonder how much it is to get them tested.

My DI/DI girls are identical :) it can happen!

I'm 21 weeks with di/di girls. About a 30% chance they could be identical but they don't do the blood work unless there is a medical reason. Doc said basically they'll either look alike or they won't. Lol.

Me and my bf havent talked about whether we want to test to find out if they are identical or wait it out, lol. I think id like to go for the testing to know for sure. Just curious to know whether my egg split or whether i had 2 eggs!

From what I've read in the uk you have to do it yourself. Not sure about anywhere else

Do they automatically test to see if they are identical or do you have to request it?

From everything I have read there is a 30% chance that any given set of di/di twins are identical. Mine are di/di but we know they are identical because we did IVF and only implanted on embryo!

My twins are di/di both girls. But I am a fraternal twin myself so chances are mine are too.

It is really interesting. If i do have same sex babies I would like to have them tested to be sure! Good luck with your babies

I'm having two girls. We did IVF with two embryos, so I assumed they would be fraternal. But, I was just reading a post on another MoM board from a woman that had done the same thing and after they were born a DNA test confirmed that they were identical.

I have di/di twins so they are fraternal but since they are the same sex I wouldn't be surprised if they look a lot alike since my sister and I do and so do her kids.

Yes I would like one of each but if they are same sex I would love to see if they are identical. Just another waiting game!! Lol

We got told we will not find out until they are born and get a blood test done. We are so excited on the mystery of whether or not they will be fraternal or identical!!

People seem quick to say that they are fraternal and that it must be two separate eggs but don't realise that if an egg splits early enough they would have separate placentas etc.

I was reading that if twins are not in your family the early split is slightly more possible. I can't wait to find out what we are getting!

Will you get your boys dna tested after birth or just look for telltale markers that they may be identical. (Don't mean to pry just really interested it the whole twin thing!!)

I have, 2 boys. And Im also wondering about the slim chance :-)
