You know when you don't like someone and you start to hate everything they say/do including breathe? ? mil sent this to dh. Does this make sense? How TF else would he get the kids to the hospital if there was an emergency and I have the car!? Ugh she acts like he's stupid.

That's what I'm saying Pp. Its ALL the time. She texts him saying "make sure you wash your hands multiple times a day" "you NEED to read to Avery everyday." "Make sure Avery is eating throughout the day."you NEED to vacuum every night because Avery makes a mess." Like no s*** lady. I think we know what to do. She's seen my dd 4x in her 2 year life. She acts like she knows everything.

I swear, my SO's mother is the same facking way. She would still wipe his ass if she could. She gave us food to take home one time and goes, "don't forget to put it in the fridge right when you get home!" Ya, thanks Anna. We were just gonna leave it on the counter to rot. Good save girl ? ?

The reason why he went to the hospital is because he was afraid to get tetanus. He had never had a shot and 2 hours after removing the hook he was feeling sick and there were red lines which usually means bad. But calling an ambulance seemed a little too much and very expensive. But yes he was reminded not to drive even though he wouldn't have the car ?

Oh, haha I didn't even notice that point Feeney. Lmbo. I was just pointing out the fact that a fish hook injury probably isn't 911 worthy.

Right!?

She's reminding him not to drive and call 911 when he won't even have the car ?

I get it op. I'm reading exactly what she wrote.

It says IF SHE IS OUT WITH THE CAR. If they only have ONE car it's common sense to call 911 if she has the car and is NOT home. That's what she's posting about. How else would the kids get to the hospital in an emergency? Walk with them on his back and shoulders? ?

I feel like no one is reading her actual text ?

"Call 911 if there's an emergency with the kids and "I" am out WITH the car"

That's what I'm talking about. We only have one car. So what else would he do?

And also if anyone has read my previous posts about her she is the last thing from a loving concerned mother lol. But again thank y'all for the responses.

I believe her point was reminding him he's not to drive even in emergency.... Not telling him to call 911 if there's an emergency obv everyone knows that. If he's dumb enough to have already done it then I wouldn't find it annoying for her to be reminding him and by her statement of I will not be able to help you guys if you get in trouble again shows she's caring and has been helping with something due to his previous troubles. Be grateful his mother is caring, my so mom doesn't even wish him a happy birthday.

Yeah pp that was the point of this rant tbh ?

The whole fish hook explanation what because mil wrote at the end of her text "I can't help you if you get in trouble again." So I was just explaining that. I'm sure the ladies on here would've asked about that.

That is annoying. It common sense. Lol. If the cars is NOT there then it it pretty obvious what to do in an emergency. Maybe it would have been different had she said call 911 if "feeny" is there but can't drive for some reason or other. But if the car is not there is not rocket science to know to call 911. Lol.

We'll he point of THIS post was me pointing out that she was telling him to call 911 if there is an emergency with the kids when I'm at work and HAVE THE CAR. Lol. How else would he get them to the hospital if I have our only car? Obviously he'd call 911. ?

As for him driving the fish hook was all the way in his foot. The ambulance would've been like $600+. He had managed to get the hook out but within 2 hours started to feel dizzy and sick. He called the 24 hour nurse line and she told him to go to the hospital and get a tetanus shot. It takes only 4 hours for tenus to spread in your body and become life threatening. He had never had one because mil doesn't agree with shots. So yes he drove himself. The ticket was like $70 and something was looking out for him that night because the cop was nice enough to let him go. And I'm thankful for that. But that being the ONLY time he drove doesn't make him irresponsible lol.

But I appreciate all yalls opinions. ?

I get that it's annoying sometimes when parents remind us about obvious things, but they're our parents.

My husband and I are nearly 30, both very responsible, and pretty good about using common sense, but both sets of parents still remind us or give advice about simple things. It doesn't mean that they think we're stupid; they love us, and that's how they show it. We just nod, smile, and go on. It's not worth the effort of being offended when they mean well.

Maybe that's not the case here, idk your mil, but I feel like it's a roll your eyes and move on kind of thing.

Sorry I have to say him driving with a suspended license was a risk he should not have taken and rather silly on his part. Not ambulance worthy either, but he risked getting put in jail for something like that. I'd be a bit leery of his judgment too if my ds did something like that.

I get she annoys you anyways, lol, but this doesn't seem too unreasonable given the circumstances behind it.

He is an adult its not her place to lecture him anymore. If he feels its worth the risk to do something that doesn't affect her she needs to kept it to herself.

The ticket probably cost less than the ambulance would have!

Ohh telling him call 911 in emergency if YOU have car. Yea that's obvious, so yes I agree, annoying.

But telling him not to drive.. Yea that's still ok with me, what mothers do.

She is annoying. 911 for a fish hook in the foot? Yeah, no I don't think so.

So MIL is reminding him he is legally not fit to drive?

Sorry but that sounds kinda reasonable to 'remind' him.

He thought his reason to drive was good enough & he got lucky getting off.

As for the in trouble thing. DHs license is suspended so he doesn't drive. I was at a class but had carpooled so the car was home. The kids were at my brothers house. There was a rusty fish hook imbedded into the carpet of our new apartment and it went ALL the way into DHs foot. He decided to drive himself to the hospital 10 mins away and not call 911 for that. He got pulled over and because of the circumstances just got a ticket for a headlight out and not arrested for driving with a suspended license. Mil OFFERED to pay the ticket. We didn't ask. That was the only time he drove. And she constantly texts him "you can't be driving" ugh. It was a damn emergency.
