Omg y'all is this possible?
I'm not going to post a pic because it's kind of gross. And may be a trigger to vegans/vegetarians. But I went to make French toast and cracked the egg into the bowl. I am 99% sure I just found a chicken fetus. How possible is this? I've never seen anything like it.

Should I just post the pic again? Haha. I feel like people aren't understanding me when I say this looked like a fetus.

As someone who has raised chickens and bred them, this doesn't seem odd to me. Until you pointed out they were the regular eggs from Kroger, LoL, I think someone got out of their cage and went to visit a lady friend ?

What @dandelion said, a lot of eggs have meat spots in them, or blood vessels. Anything store bought won't be fertilized because they only keep females and they're kept in small cages, so even if a rooster wandered in he probably couldn't get to them.

This is why mom taught me to always crack eggs in a separate bowl before mixing them into my ingredients.

I want to see so bad ?

Didn't see pic so not sure but... Hens had to be mixed with rooster to have foetus in it, some free range chicken farms keep roosters with them but majority of commercial sellers wouldn't for this very reason. Plus the egg couldn't have been freshly laid & must have been incubated for a bit for chick to grow.
Often my hens eggs have red blood or 'meat' spots in then which are just burst vessels when egg was forming inside hen. Sometimes the meat spots look like little pea or bean sized bits that are pink flesh coloured. Eggs fine to eat, I just scoop these bits out. Iv not got roosters either.

These weren't farm fresh eggs I don't think. I bought the Kroger brand 18ct eggs.

Missed the pix. I could've told you if it was a chicken fetus or not. I lived in mexico for a few months and would often crack eggs with a fetus inside. They always came from the same store too so I eventually stopped buying from there. I remember one time I cracked an egg and a fetus came out with some blood. I cracked another 3eggs and the same thing happened. Another time I cracked an egg and two fetuses came out. I didn't even know chickens could have twins lol.

It can happen. It happens often especially with farm fresh eggs from the farmers market.

No this was a legit looking fetus. No blood spots at all. It was the size of like my thumb nail.
deleted-user·
Was it just a blood spot because that is very common and perfectly safe to eat (Although I never do eat them lol). Now I've bought farm fresh eggs and have actually had a partially developed chicken fetus. Was done with eggs that day and for a bit. ?

I missed it but I will say that three times I got eggs from Walmart I had at least one bloody egg from the dozen ?

It sure looked like a fetus. I'm not exaggerating haha
deleted-user·
With basic commercial eggs it's almost impossible. The birds are caged Ina. Tiny cage in a huge building of all hens. Now sometimes you'll get a spot of blood or two, but an actual fetus is pretty out there.
deleted-user·
My friend worked for a catering company and they cracked eggs 5 per bowl in case they got one with blood. It happens. I haven't personally had it but, don't feel bad. That chick had no chance since it wasn't being incubated anyways
