Is this wrong
So because of the living situation we were in awhile back living in a hotel dds sleep got all messed up. Well since moving into our apartment we've been working to get her used to her crib and a bed time. We've got the bedtime back to normal but she hates going to sleep in her crib. She freaks out. So we go through the routine and then I lay with her in our bed and she falls asleep within minutes. Then I put her in her crib and she is fine until morning. Well I talking to my mom about it and she basically is criticizing me for laying down with dd when she falls asleep. She says I'm forming bad habits for her. But dd screams if I just put her in her crib and it breaks my heart because she seems scared. Also the selfish part of me loves it. Dd (2 years old) has never been the affectionate type. Never been a cuddler or a lap sitter and I do not force affection. She comes to me for hugs and kisses when SHE wants to. I love that I can read to her and sing songs and have her curl up to me to fall asleep. It's a time where she actually wants to cuddle. But I also do it because she won't go to sleep in her crib and this is easier for everyone. Am I wrong for doing this?

I personally don't feel you're wrong for doing what you do. I think that it's our choice as parents to know what is best to do for our kids!! If snuggling with your Dd helps her sleep, and it works for you as a family, then great!
I nurse/rock my DS to sleep and then put him in his crib, because it's what works best for us. He won't sleep on his own, and no sleep training worked for us. He just needs the snuggles, and I also love it, so ??♀️
It works for us, so that's what we do!
You do you girl ?

Thank you. It's just usually my mom isn't all up in my business with unsolicited advice but she really got on my nerves with this one.

You're not wrong. I've done that with all 3 kids. However... My oldest slept with me until he's 4. But I didn't mind. Lol do what works for y'all because on day she won't want to fall asleep with you. So enjoy those cuddles.

I don't think it's wrong at all! I would lay with my dd#1 in her bed every night until she feel asleep. Then when dd#2 got here I put dd#1's toddler bed right next to my bed because it was more convenient then me laying in her room with the baby. Now that ds is going to be here soon I am putting my girls beds in their room to make room for the crib in my room. I'm hoping they will sleep in there fine since they have each other. I have a few months left to work out the kinks. Do what you gotta do to keep you and baby happy! ?

I mean she was really blowing it out of proportion. Every night it's bath time, then she gets in her pjs I read her 2 books. Her dad comes in to say goodnight. I shut the light off and we sing a couple songs. She gives me kiss and then within 5-10mins she's out. Then I move her to her crib. She was sleeping with us for a little bit I got tired of sleeping on the edge haha.

Nope i lay with all my kids until they fall asleep. My older children sleep great now. My oldest had actually told me its one of his favorite memories is cuddling with me before falling asleep. He told me he knew i was always there for him if he gets scared.

If you don't have a problem with it then no one else should. That sounds like a perfectly healthy routine. At least you have a routine! Im sure she just feels like she is trying to guide you in the right direction but stand your ground and do what works best for you and your dd.

I still do this with my 3.5 year old. She will not fall asleep in her bed on her own. Someone has to be in there with her.

I say if it works for you then that's all that matters. I could see where she was coming from if your dd was waking up and freaking out because she wasn't where she fell asleep, because that's common, but if she's staying asleep until morning I don't see an issue.

You're not wrong. Neither is your mom. It is habit forming lol, but you do what you just to get your kids to sleep and to get sleep yourself.

Cosleeping is normal. Kids will end up in your bed once they're toddlers anyhow no matter what you do. Comforting your baby isn't forming bad habits
