what would u do What to do for a constipated infant ?

Try gripe water. That always made my daughter poop as a newborn. She pooped fine without it but when I tried it for gas relief then she pooped more than normal.

My daughter was the same way at 3 weeks old....I used a q-tip and put Vaseline on the cotton part and stick just the Vaseline cotton part up her butt and twirl around for a second....safest way and nothing will harm....look it up...worked the best for me and helped her slide it right on out...my other girlfriend just did it for her son and she was so happy with the results

I eat apple sauce and drink apple juice and lots and I mean lots of water and it usually makes my breastfed son poop pretty quickly! I also like little tummies gripe water to help!

My son is 6 months old and when he is constipated I give him 1oz Apple juice and 1oz water and he either goes that day or will the next morning !!! I even did it when he first started on formula if he went 5 days without pooping... You can always try it !!! The water just helps dilute the apple juice and another thing for constipation that my pedi told me to do is give a warm bath and stick the thermometer in a little bit in there bums and it's suppose to help loosen up there mussels to poop but I always did Apple juice and water and it did the trick just fine !!! And it doesn't cause discomfort either lol

Okay my daughter is 3 weeks and we have the same problem. So first you can use oval drops or gripe water, you can find both at any pharmacy you don't need a prescription. Also maybe just try giving baby straight water about 30 ml (make sure it's boiled and cooled though). You can also try fennel seeds, you boil 100 ml water with 3/4 fennel seeds in it then drain the water into something so the seeds can come out and give baby only 5-10 ml of it. Lastly you can give baby chamomille tea, boil water as usual pour it normally into a mug put the tea bag in for a few seconds (I would say about 10-15 seconds) so it changes colour slightly and then take it out, from your mug pour about 15 ml into the bottle (you can put the rest of the bag back into the mug so you can drink it too) and serve to baby once it's warm. Obviously try these one at time to see which works best,

Please please limit any water intake if you try that, it can throw off so much in their bodies cause water intoxication brain damage and death. A sip or two to help with constipation once in a while would be ok but before 1 babies don't need water

Distilled water - babies can have water. Just a few sips here and there but never in place of milk or formula. Helped my LO with bad constipation. A warm bath and gentle massage after also worked for us.

How old is lo? Try bicycling legs, massage tummy clockwise around belly button with slight pressure if baby is older you can try a tiny bit of apple juice to get things going or eat more fiber in your diet baby will get more through breastmilk

She will push till her face is beat red and she crys in pain and her stomach is hard and breastfed

Is baby struggling to poop? Swollen stomach? Grunting or straining? Or why do you think baby is constipated? How old? Breastfed or formula fed?
