Never. It's a choking hazard and baby's digestive system isn't ready for solid food until at least 6 months.

There's no problem with putting a tiny bit of cereal in a baby's bottle as long as his pediatrician gives you the go ahead. I started doing it with my son at 4 months I believe and it was just enough to add a little texture and I had to make the nipple on the bottle a little bigger. All babies are different and some are ready for solids before 6 months, I started straight solids at 5 months with my son because formula wasn't enough for him anymore since he was already drinking 8 or 9oz bottles every 3 hours and still wanting more. His pediatrician said the cereal in his bottles could help settle his stomach better since his acid reflux would make him spit half a bottle up after every feeding

The cereal is just a filler and doesn’t have any nutritional value whatsoever. Also adding it to a bottle is a choking hazard. Babies don’t need more than just milk, you can exclusively formula feed or breastfeed up to a year old.

In addition to potentially increasing risk of SIDS, of note:
It is a choking hazard.
The cereal takes away from the amount of milk in the bottle (adds carbohydrates and dilutes the nutrient density), and baby may not get adequate milk volume for proper growth and development.
Baby is being given a higher concentration of calories without being able to regulate her own intake. This can lead to weight problems in the future.

Just, no. And to add to the whole "but my pediatrician said..." bull, most peds aren't even up to date with all the new dangers. I'd just do your research and use a little common sense. There is more risks than benefits after all.

I agree with never. If your baby isn’t getting full, it means they need more milk. Digestive systems don’t mature faster in some infants than they do in others. Aside from the fact that their very sensitive bellies aren’t capable of digesting that garbage, it’s also a huge choking hazard.
