Share your tips with everyone!
I thought it would be fun and helpful for one another if everyone shared a tip or technique they use for their baby. It might help us learn something that we can use for our own little ones.
I've noticed a hard tummy and when my baby doesn't want to bend when I try to sit her on my leg it's a true sign of gas. I usually can get a big burp out of her then I try sitting her on my leg again and leaning her forward and patting her back and usually get burps and sometimes toots! Also massaging her left side helps when gas is stuck.
My nicu nurse told me that this has worked on babies she's had that were inconsolable after baby was fed, warm, clean diaper. This doc developed this shake thing where you hold the baby at an angle and kinda shake their butt a little. It's hard to explain lol.

Also for gas pains try doing bicycle kicks for them to help them get it out.
@Baird: ? I'm seriously going to have to try that one. It seems like Matt always wakes up when I try to sneak him into the rock n play.
Helpful hints/tips/insight for FTM's ??
I thought as STM's (second time mom's of one or more) that we could share things that we learned later that would have been helpful to know beforehand either during labor, during stay at hospital, first few days of baby, bringing baby home etc...
