WHAT happened???
I was exclusively pumping and making about 2oz per breast. Well I've been just letting dd drink from me directly to see if I could increase my supply. WRONG. I just pumped since she was having a long nap and wanted to see if I've made any progress and I got 2.5 oz between two breasts!!!! ??? the one side gave barely half an oz. What did I do wrong???
Were you pumping that much during the early weeks?
Your supply could very well be regulating...which would lead to less milk because our bodies over produce for the first little while. Also...pumping is no indicator of how much milk you have, so try not to stress. There are times of the day that your supply will increase/decrease.
Im having the same issue. I couldn't get my baby to latch so I've been pumping and bottle feeding my breast milk. He seems to eat more than I can produce. I've been pumping now every hour and a half to two hours and trying to get my supply up. I am only producing with both breasts 2-2 1/2 ounces. My guy is a week old tomorrow. Is that a normal amount? Is there something I can do to increase?
It was the left side which usually does produce less, but it was so shocking it went to so little so fast. Even now, when my breasts should be feeling full, they don't at all.
Thanks pp, I have some mothers milk tea I'm going to try also, and oatmeal. This is not what I wanted to deal with a week or so before I go back to work!!! ?
@pp: I think that's how much I had the first few days. Then I started to produce 4-4.5ozs on my own.
Thanks for the support guys!!! I'm trying not to stress because I know that'll make the problem worse... It just really frustrating when I know my breasts are empty and dd is crying out of hunger...
