Calling all my fellow handywomen ?
I'm sitting here trying to put my stroller together that we bought and I'm having a serious case of pregnancy brain. ? Up until now, I've been able to breeze through putting furniture together, but I think my limit is being reached. The instructions look like a foreign language to me!
I feel your pain! My husband will buy me whatever furniture I want so long as I put it together. Anything that breaks, I have to fix! I don't mind, hopefully I can pass my "handiness" on to dd.
our diaper sprayer! it attaches to the toilet water intake line for spraying off cloth diapers. anyway that thing had me cursing like a sailor and i never curse. the real issue is that my dh is not so handy i usually do all our home repairs and stuff so i had to make a couple trips to my local ace hardware. luckily they are very helpful and i got it figured out. :)
That makes me feel better that I'm not the only one having stroller trouble! I'm sitting here breathing like I've just ran a marathon trying to hammer this cap on! Don't even get me started on the front wheels, I tried hoisting a sleeve up to lock them into place and I'm literally not strong enough!
Oh man, the stroller was trouble. I'd blame the stroller, not you! I've been able to put together all kinds of stuff without trouble (mental, that is... physically, I've needed an occasional hand).
In my case, the instructions provided were written as if the fabric was all attached, and it sure wasn't. That meant the instructions were pretty much useless, as the description and diagrams didn't match reality, and I had to figure out the order of events and proper placement on my own. Further complicating it, the fabric of course had never been creased, so it was stiff and fought being put where it belonged, often making me think I was off-track even when I was doing it right. Phew! At least I'm happy with the final product.
So: I feel for you.
We bought a hall tree bench (can hang coats on it, as well as sit on the bench to put on or take off shoes (a must right now for me)) and I was having the hardest time getting some of the bolts to start screwing in to the cams they came with. My husband was trying to get me to step away for a few minutes because I was getting so frustrated, but I NEEDED to get it to work before I could stop. I think it took me all of an hour to put the whole thing together myself (my husband had told me he wouldn't help if I put it together right then, but he would if I waited until the next day. I refused to wait. XD).
