I’m not sure what they look like. I have a serious phobia. When I was little I was stung on my knee and it swoll up as big as a basketball and it was way painful, ever since I freak out when I see them. I don’t want to wait to see them again. So I’m thinking now would be the perfect time to treat my yard. I guess it would help if I knew the exact type... I wonder how warm it has to be for them to come out ?
A couple years ago a bee landed on me at my nieces bday party and I was bawling my eyes out, frozen. I could not move to save my life.
Sooooo I really need to get rid of them.
Are you sure they are actual bees ? The other year we had carpenter bees they are huge and even bigger then bumble bees . They made these holes in our pergoal as deck I tried just spraying because there was a swarm but their nest was in the holes so I waited till evening and put foil in the wholes (since dh kept forgetting the steel wool) and used a chop stick to pack it in and make sure it was full and I haven’t had a problem since . Last year we literally saw 1 which my kids named fat fat
How big are they? We had cicada killer wasps living underground at our house. They’re terrifying but don’t usually go after people as long as you don’t mess with them. I think we poured gasoline down their nests but they still came back every year. Eventually we just let them be.
Always sucked laying by the pool and feeling something on your leg and seeing a like, three inch wasp just chillin though.
If you want you can look up local honey bee owners. See if they can come out and make sure they are not honey bees. Never heard of honey bees living underground but guess anything is possible. If they are honey bees then they will probably take them off your hands or give you the go ahead to kill them if they are not.
They could be yellow jackets so be very careful!
I haven’t had a good look at them because I’m a sissy Lala so I hope they aren’t wasps! That’s so scary.
I’m going to look up that spray and a diy spray. I know we need bees and I’d feel bad killing them. But if they was wasps they are dying.
I have them too but wasps ? idk where their coming from but we live next to a huge empty lot of grass so I'm assuming its from there. I also found a tick on my living room window curtain Sunday and called Terminix to have them come out because I thought it was bedbugs again.
You'd have to spray to keep them away.
I kind of brought it upon myself though because my garden in the back is full of lavender and plants that bees and wasps love ?
Any idea what kind of spray? Honestly. I’m all for making my own stuff that is organic and would just drive them out not kill them... We have a sprayer I can use.
Yes! I almost cried when I saw them. I know my SO covered some holes the end of the summer but I’m sure they can dig their way out lol. I’d rather boxelder bugs over bees! But I know they can be a nuisance!
Thanks! I’ll see if that’s an option. (The city changed the regulations for billing on water usage. It seems ridiculously high if I use too much.) and we have a big back yard.
I feel like I’m going to have to wait to see one of these little guys before I make a decision ?
