What would you do

Some of you may have read what happened with my sister and her boyfriend that lived with me. I am still dealing with that mess. We go to court next week even. The bf has been in jail and she’s been staying around town, from what I understand she’s still doing drugs. (Only know what my other sister has said)

No. Not if she's using still. I do agree that it's too soon and I wouldn't let someone like that around the kids.

Thanks. I told SIL I’d be more than happy to come visit at her house and my door is always open.

No I wouldn't go. Like you said, tell sil and anyone else that they are more than welcome to come to your house if they want to see you and your family but she's not invited.

Absolutely not, and don’t let anyone guilt you into it.

No. I’d invite my mom to the Saturday dinner though.

Nope. We aren't going to my MIL for Christmas this year because of my loser SIL. She gets out of jail in a few weeks and we finally cut her out of our lives and she'll be living with MIL.

I’ll stand my ground. What’s sad is I will invite my entire family... but doubt anyone would come. I live 15 min from Mom( other sister lives with mom) and 3 min from brother. My parents don’t ever go anywhere. And my siblings follow the leader.

No, I wouldn't go either. What she did was so wrong and I wouldn't let my sister ruin anything else for me, or cause me any kind of stress. I'm sorry your dealing with this. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about not seeing her.

Nope as far as I know im going to my MIL but I just found out her BIL in living with their daughter again which would mean him and his Gg are most likely going to attend and my 3 year old seen this woman attack me and she's about 15 years older then me I'm only 22 and she is alot bigger than me and both my two babies seen this and no one was there to help me and my 3 ur old got in it trying to get her off but it's almost been a year and she still brings it up sometimes so I would never take her around that woman because she is afraid of her so i guess I'll find out if they are going to be there thursday and if so we will make other plans

I guess I'm the odd one out, I would go. I read your post about your sister and her bf and she seemed just as upset and traumatized as you were by all of it, so traumatized she wanted to end her life.. I wouldn't cut my sister out during a difficult time like that. I understand not wanting her in your house if she's using, but I also wouldn't miss out on family time just because your sister will be there. She wasn't the one who tried to assult your dh, and if I'm being honest your SO wasn't acting like an adult in that situation either. ?

If it was the only time she threatened to commit suicide, maybe. But when the boyfriends mom came to grab his stuff she said she talks her out of it all the time. She’s still with the guy even though he’s in jail. And even then she brought drugs into my house.

Is it fair to punish your mom because of what your sister did?

Nope wouldn't go, it's not punishing your mom at all, she's welcome to come on Saturday, you shouldn't have to be around someone like that if you don't want to, it's called boundaries...

It's one day, that's not a dramatic punishment for her mom.

Nope, wouldn't go.

Nope. I wouldn't.

My Mom and I weren't on speaking terms at one point and I refused to see her for the holidays. She was upset but she brought it on herself. Just because someone is family, it doesn't mean you have to be put in an uncomfortable position.

In your situation with your sister. No, I wouldn't go. If I personally was in the same situation with mine. I know my mom wouldn't have her over. Sorry you are dealing with all this.

My mom just recently passed away this year unexpectedly at 51 years old. We were fighting and I stopped talking to her until she got sick. So I would say go because you never know when the last time your going to see her is. I would give anything to have my mom back and change the way things were before she passed away. I held her while she passed away but she was in a coma on life support and I don't even know if she heard everything I had to say to her. But you do whatever you think is best and good luck
