Child left at corn maze...

Child left at corn maze...

Overnight!!! Who seriously would forget about a toddler for 12 hours? How irresponsible.

@EK I thought the same thing ?

To be honest, I’m sure it’s super exhausting to just keep track of all those kids. It probably threw them off even more so since only 11 of the 14 kids went with them. I want to judge them and say how horrible of parents they must be but I just feel sad for them. A little boy had to suffer from their mistake and I just hope they learn from it. Maybe get some kind of technology so you know how far away your kid is or something? Lol

I think their response is bull s*** and makes nothing any more justifiable or understanding then it was without them saying it. The kid just being given back the next morning and thats it, as if it was just a harmless mistake that anyone would make, is baffling to me. Your 3yo got out of the car and you didn’t realize it? No one noticed an empty seat? Do they just rely on their kids to take care of each other? Who was supposed to get him out of the car? Shoes off and jackets away. The child was 3. What’d they think he was doing while they sat on the couch watching a movie? You’d think with so many kids they’d focus more on the younger kids who need help/supervision/reminders on things, not less. @mama exactly! It has everything to do with it because you clearly can’t keep track of all your kids to have left your 3yo at a damn corn maze overnight.

" Robert also stressed that although he has a plural family, it has "nothing to do with why his son was mistakenly left behind."

But yes, Robert. Yes it does. If you only had 6 or 7 kids you wouldn't be putting a football team to bed every night and would have realized he was missing. Makes me wonder how much he is really neglected.

Okay, when I first saw this post days ago I was going to jokingly comment that it must've been a large polygamous family since it happened in Utah. I didn't comment because I didn't want anyone to take offense or think I was stereotyping... but turns out I WAS RIGHT! ???

I'm sorry that article about the parents response is bull s*** . The only reason why is because hey didn't realize he was MISSING until MORNING! I can excuse the fact they have a lot of kids and drove home without realizing he wasn't there. But until morning? No. No excuse.

Sounds like someone should step in and take some of those kids off their hands.

In Utah? Nope that doesn't surprise me, my friend that used to live there said she had a kid wander up to her in the park and she had to walk him alllll around the park to find the mother and she had aton of kids and didn't even realize that one of her sons had wandered off

That's disgusting! I understand that you can turn your back for a second and they can run off ( DD is only 10.5 weeks so no running yet ?) but that's why you need to keep a close eye on them.

But seriously, they didn't notice there was no child to feed dinner to or tuck into bed? That makes me really sad for the child, obviously the parents don't take much notice for it to take THAT long and realise " hey he's not with me and he's not with you- where is he?!"

This hurts my heart. It says they even took him up to every car that was still in the parking lot as he was crying. I can't see how this was a "mistake" since it wasn't reported until morning. I love that the officer played Finding Dory for him though, that was sweet. If you can't remember your child because you have several children, you should no longer have children. I hope charges are brought and someone counsels this family.. it could have been worse.

Great point pp double neglect

PP- they found the child before closing. But no one claimed him or called before the next day. He was with police and CPS overnight.

Poor little kid. I’d be traumatized if I was left over night at a corn maze & I’m 37. Messed up

Another question: how did no one who worked there check all the areas before close...?

Who lets their toddler go into a maze alone in the first place.

How do you not notice that you didn’t buckle him into his car seat? Put him to bed? Feed him dinner? How do you not notice that your child isn’t there!! Sad. I feel like it had to have been on purpose!

Emmy, 12-seater passenger vans are pretty common family vehicles in Utah.

They shouldn't be aloud kids!! You don't forget your 3 year old! You would donhis belt in the cAr! Get him ready for bed! There's no excuse.

Ответить

How'd she get all 10 kids to the maze? She'd need a bus!

Ответить

Theres really no acceptable excuse at all. Even if all 11 kids were her own (which they weren’t going by the article). He could only tell them his brother’s name -so I’m assuming that was his only sibling. Assuming. That’d mean the kids didn’t even outnumber their parents since both were there. Multiple families wouldn’t fit in the same car, so whose car was he supposed to be in? When we get home I take my kid’s jacket and shoes off. If it was after dinner, theres no brushing teeth? Bed time? Asking if they had fun? Some snuggles? How in the world do you not care to check on your kid until the next day? He’s 3. Your kid didn’t cross your mind? You just assumed he was running around with everyone else, and went to watch a movie on the couch?

There’s no “opps, sorry, it was an accident” with that.

How tf do you not notice for so long? Don't you feed your kid and put on their pjs and get them ready for bed? Unbelievable. How sad.

The people most likely to hurt children under 5 are their parents, it makes me sick thinking about all the ppl in this world who give life to kids only to torture them and take it away when it gets too hard for them. The ones she should have been most concerned about were the kids who physically cant keep up with the others

In this article it said multiple families lived in the same home. Even if she had 11 kids, losing 1 and not realizing until the next morning? That poor kiddo.

Another article says she showed up to the police station with 10 other kids. Doesn’t say if they were her kids though.

Sheesh that is insane. I mean I can see it if mom thought dad had him and dad thought mom had him and they didn't live together but they were at the corn maze together but other than that... crazy. That's one of my fears with my eldest but dad is in another city so it's a moot point. But when we were in the same easy it seems easy to leave the kid at daycare or something because A miscommunication
