Party planning Haha when you want to plan a small birthday party. And realizing you have a big family ?? ♀

My husband and I both come from large families (dh had 13 siblings, I have 8). Birthday parties are typically 30-40 people. I plan the meal completely around what I can get for cheap. I'm a master bargain shopper ? Typical price ends up $1-$1.50 per person. The biggest expense is usually fresh veggies for the veggie platter since you can't stock up when they're on sale and save for later.

The meals aren't gourmet, but they're tasty and filling. As long as no one goes hungry at my house I call it a success.

Yep. My immediate side of the family is only two other people. DH's is 12. With our little family of 3 that makes 17 people to feed at parties.

I'm in the same boat! My LO has her party coming up, we haven't gotten the final count yet, but it could be 20-30 ppl easy ? It's suppose to be at our house, but I'm having 2nd thoughts about that. I think I'm going to look in to some smaller rental spaces. Just thinking of having that many in my house is giving me anxiety.

lol I wanted less than 10. But that will never happen unless it's DD, SS, SO and myself. If I invite siblings and exclude others all hell will break loose ?

ETA that's all my SO wants is us 4. But with my family being so helpful during our transition of him being a trucker they have been great. I feel like I have to include them in this milestone.

Hahah sounds like a mini vacation will be cheaper than having a party! At least I can celebrate DDs and my own at the same event. I'll be 30! DD will be 1. We can wait until 10 and 40 for the next party ?

Sounds like my family lol! my immediate family including my husbands easily comes up to 30 people lol so we decided that we will only host a first birthday and baptisms and we will Be going on mini vacations from now on for any other birthdays
