Is it weird that my babysitter text me 7am on a Saturday to tell me she misses my baby? Lol I'm a ftm and I kind of thought it was weird and I don't know how to respond to that really...

Lmao I guess I looked at it in a lifetime movie kinda way to make me think it was weird! She could be about 40... I didn't ask how old she was lol

The Lifetime movie watcher in me screams weird, but the mom in me who would want a loving babysitter if I needed one, says no it's not weird. When I nannied in High School I watched two elementary school kids and there would be times I missed seeing them and offered to watch them for a few hours no charge.

I think it's sweet. I'd be happy to know my child's babysitter enjoys him that much.

His teacher texts me a lot and asked how he's doing if he hasnt been to daycare in a few days and says she can't wait to see him and that always makes me feel good.

My mom watches him a few days a week too since he's only in daycare part time and she always tells me how much she's misses him on the weekends.

I would be utterly head over heels to know my babysitter missed my baby.

Weird? Sometimes ppl share and express their feelings easily via text message now if she had of called that would've been a bit strange..

unless this is the preface to some sort of twisted lifetime movie and she's trying to get closer to you to get even closer to the baby and then take the baby and raise it as her own and then your baby comes looking for you years later after finding out what happened..if it's not then i think she's a keeper...she sounds sweet! ?

I personally wouldn't. But to each their own. Not that weird imo

I'd be weirded out by the time it was sent. More than it being sent.

I'm on both sides about it. I like that she misses her, but think it's weird she text me about it. Lol

Appreciate everyone's input!

What does your mommy instincts tell you? And how long has she been your sitter for. Personally its weird to me and I would be watching her more closely. For now it was a text what will be the next thing?

I think it's sweet! Not weird. Shows she really cares for your baby

It's a little weird for her to text you so early and only a day after watching your dd, but not weird that she misses her. I was a nanny for a long time and I would most definitely miss the kids on my off days, but I didn't text their parents about it. To me it felt like that would be invasive to their family time, especially since the only way to fix it would be to invite me over or let me watch them, but again, that's invasive to their family time. I still keep in touch with my families and visit every now and then, so now when they cross my mind I'll text them and tell them I miss them and hope everyone is doing well, but when I saw them regularly I left their family time alone.

I don't think it's weird. I would like to know that my sons babysitter truly cared for him and that he wasn't just a job ya know?

I think it's sweet. The main teacher when my daughter was a newborn missed her sooo much. On Mondays, my daughter reaches out to her current teacher for hugs. Bonding with the caregiver is very important.

7am isn't early to me anymore since bella is up at 4-5 am every morning! But on a Saturday? Lol. And I don't really know her. I found her through a coworker. (She's known her for 10+ yrs) she is a super nice lady, has nannied for 23 years. Doesn't charge a whole lot. But she has purchased a ton of stuff for her too. Play pen, bouncer, clothes, toys, dvds. I provide everything too. Her husband had to tell her to stop buying things even.

Lol. She is good with her. Plus I believe that babies are tiny pieces of heaven, so I guess it's not weird for her to miss her but to text me early to tell me that was. imo. I guess no one ever says that to me or about my LO except her dad, so that was a first. I wanna feel missed too lol jk

Eh. I've babysat tons of children and when they're acting up, I impatiently waited for my day off. When my day off came, I missed them so much lol but I'd never text the parents that unless they sent me pictures.

I was a nanny and yes it is weird. I loved the kids I was taking care of but would never text the parents a day later how much I miss their kid.

If I left the family and was in touch with them, then I would say I miss them.

Is it weird because you don't want to think of someone having formed enough of a bond with your baby to miss them?

I had 2 sitters who did this. They both would even ask to have him for a couple of hours on their days off free of charge. We were definitely blessed to have them both

She probably just generally misses your baby. Babies are sweet.

I don't think it's weird at all. If it were me I'd be thankful that I have someone that cares so much watching my little one

Is she strictly your babysitter? If yes then I would say it's weird.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?

You couldn't find a babysitter?!

You couldn't find a babysitter?! Mommas, do you take your kids with you to run errands and go to mundane appointments? On two separate occasions, a doctors appointment for me and today at a car service appointment, someone has remarked "you couldn't find a babysitter?!" It never crossed my mind to find a babysitter. I take my 2 kids with me just about everywhere. They are well behaved (minus the occasional 3 year old meltdown) and one of them is attached to my boob the majority of the time anyway. Am I the only one? Is that a weird thing to do? Do most moms find babysitters?
