Choroid plexus cyst...

Have any of you had your ultra sound results come back with a choroid plexus cyst and everything be ok after?? I'm nervous and trying not to stress. I am having them do the blood work and going back in 2 weeks to have another ultra sound. It's so hard not to cry... I'm so emotional all the time.

Sorry Hun never heard of it. If you feel like crying then maybe you should, you will feel much much better afterwards. I found out when I was 28weeks that my little girls kidney has failed due to a dysplastic multi cystic left kidney. I was devastated, I go for scans every 4 weeks since then to monitor the other one but I understand your worry and pain. Was it the only finding? Is everything else normal? X

"I am a sonographer and we see these all the time. They are nothing to worry about when they are the only finding. It's nerve wracking, I know but try not to worry about it too much. They will resolve. While they were once thought to be an abnormal finding they are now believed to be just pockets of CSP and are a normal part of the brain development. The perinatologist I last worked for wouldn't even mention them when they were the only "finding". We almost expect them on the majority of our patients these days."

I found this on a forum, maybe it can help you put your mind to rest.

Oh thank you! I've been working since I posted. I had to return to work after my doctors appointment. I will check that out. It was the only thing they noticed on the scan. We did the blood work and I'm scheduled for another scan in 2 weeks. I will try not to worry! But it is hard because every mama wants a healthy baby!

My son had this at my anatomy scan so they sent me for extra blood tests and everything came back normal. He is now a healthy 1 month old with no problems at all.

I can't wait for the results to come back. I was pretty composed at the doctors office. But I called my mom to tell her and couldn't hold back the tears. Started crying like a baby! With everything I've learned so far I'm a little relieved of how often this is diagnosed and not an issue. Thanks for your response

Unless they said there were other warning signs you should be fine my baby had this at my 19 week scan I was so scared but the sonographer reassured me that alot of woman they see have this happen to them and baby came out perfectly normal . I had another scan at 30 weeks to see if it was still there and they said no and that there was a low chance of it even meaning anything . I requested the ultra sound too they said I wasn't going to have any more scans and I was so worried like you and said no I need to know and then what do you know they were right it was nothing but it was good seeing baby

They told me the day I found out he was a boy. Bad timing. I had to wait for an ultrasound at 36 weeks. Both cyst were gone.

So happy

I found out at my appt after my anatomy scan that my little one had them. The doctor said back in the day they would have been a bigger issue if seen on a scan because they would have had to be pretty big but with the scans now the smallest dot is noticeable. He told me not to worry as I don't have any other risk factors. I still proceeded to ask at other ultrasounds if they can see them and they are gone. I'm now 38 weeks. Apparently they can be a normal part of fetal development and usually resolve on their own by 24-27 weeks.
