Sushi?

I know people think it's bad to eat raw fish. How many of you still eat sushi with raw fish?? I just want some.... In a bad way lol

Комментарии

I do too but honestly it's not worth the risk... It's only 9 months... Really not a long time... I never understood people who just don't care and continue on with their mid rare steaks and lunch meats, sushi, or any pregnancy no no items. I get the whole "there are so many things out there that are already dangerous as is but is approved by the fda and stuff but why add on to it? Why even risk it? Would you forgive yourself if you ended up harming your child? I know the chances are low, but they're not non-existent. I wish you a healthy pregnancy regardless of what you choose. Your life, your body, your baby. Good luck :)

Also the FDA approves a lot of things that people end up having issues with or dying so it's kinda hard to trust what they say.

The no raw fish is an American thing. Basically everywhere else in the world says it's fine - just make sure it's fresh and from a reputable place. I've been eating raw fish throughout my pregnancy every couple weeks when I go out to restaurants - sushi, tuna, oysters, scallop sashimi, smoked fish.

I have craved sushi like crazy this pregnancy. I have been making sure to order the non-raw kind. Today, however, I HAD TO HAVE A SPICY TUNA ROLL. A part of me was worried. . But it's such a small amount that I know everything is fine. And it was the best freakin sushi I have eaten in a while. ..

I'll go for no on this, last time I ate raw fish; gave me food poisoning for a week.... During my final exams!!!! Never again, and I would not risk it with my baby!!

I eat so much sushi, I really don't like raw sushi anyways but I do eat cooked sushi. I've only heard of the mercury in the fish being harmful to your LO. Not bacteria. But I could be wrong. I really don't avoid most things like lunch meat, red meats, fish. I've never had problems and I have GD. So my nutritionist does recommend eating that stuff to help with my diet.

My doctor gave the ok in moderation I have it time to time no issues

I laugh because I avoided it in my first pregnancy. My daughter then starting eating it at 2 years old. She's five and probably eats raw salmon about 3 times a month. ?

Actually yes eating sushi is considered a vital part of the pregnant women's diet in japan. My doctor has no issue with it if it's from a place I know. And yes op pretty much all the fish is flash frozen on the boat. Killing any parasites.

So to pp if you don't want to eat it fine. But you better avoid eating out all together. As well as veggies from the store. Those all have the same exact level of risk. And also let's not be ignorant because it's up to interpretation as you have seen. It's not like she's asking about shooting up some heroine. The FDA allows over a THOUSAND chemicals here that are banned in other countries because they are proven to cause cancer and Etc So ya I trust the FDA...not.

I've read the same about freezing kills the bacteria too. Just wondered about others eating it.

And here's a reference from the nhs which tells you sushi is fine.

Cook the dang fish.

@Mrsavila in the uk it is considered perfectly fine to eat sushi. You need to freeze it for 24 hours to kill a parasite in the flesh that some fish may have. It won't grow back because it dies just as it does if you cook it. Like a pp said what do you think Japanese people do for 9 months?

I LOL'd for a reason. I'm not to sure if these strict pregnancy rules are accurate and FDA has approved dangerous additives in our food. Not too sure about believing everything they say..... Any way this is a question to the ladies that have eaten sushi. I'm sure many women don't approve of raw fish.

I read somewhere that freezing the fish for a certain length of time kills bacteria but you might just want to look it up because for lithe life of me I can't remember the source. Of course the safest thing is to not eat any meat though.

Wow really op... U don't know that "Japanese ppl" eat raw fish during pregnancy. Consult with Ur Dr. He will say that its not safe to consume raw meats.

Also, u will need to thaw that frozen fish then eat it. It will have u safe bacteria once thawed. Anyway, Ur baby not mine. If that's a gamble u r willing to take on Ur unborn then eat away.

I live in Utah. All fish is frozen and not fresh. Most bacteria thrive in the fresh fish. Annnnnd what about the Japanese people who eat it all the time? Lol

Absolutely in no way can u eat raw fish while pregnant. I'm a bit surprised by the other pp saying its ok with moderation.... No its not. FDA says that its not safe for pregnant women to consume raw anything. Parasites n bad bacteria live in raw meats. Now, u can eat seafood n sushi just as long as its fully cooked. However, raw meat is a no. Its not safe.

Eat in moderation, you shouldn't eat any raw fish, if anything heat it up a little to kill bacteria

People are probably going to freak out on you about this lol but as long as it's not a every day thing and it's from a place where they handle it properly, I ate it through my whole first pregnancy. He's fine lol

Нравится Ответить

I think it's fine in moderation and if it's from a place you have eaten at before and trust. I normally love sushi I just haven't felt like eating it. If I did I'm sure I would lol

I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
